Moving from Hawaii to Idaho
Thanks for the info. Do you know what the average hourly wages are there in No. Idaho and Spokane for someone with a "few years" of experience under their belts? I have a feeling it's a lot less than CA and HI where I'm from (then of course, the cost of living is more expensive in CA and HI).

Moving from Hawaii to Idaho
Aloha, I will be moving from Hawaii to Coeur d'Alene/Spokane area next year. Wondering two things: A. What hospitals are in the area? (I'm an OB nurse) B. What's the average wage for RNs there? (I have 15 years experience) I know moving from "paradise" to Idaho seems strange but, I'm looking forward to this new adventure :)

Going around Oahu
Aloha, I just moved here a little over a month ago and bought a cheap car for $2000. I figured, it would cost me that much to ship my car from California and back eventually, if I decided to. I figured that if I moved again, I could always resell the car and re-coup some of my money. As for "The Bus" system, although I've never taken it, I hear it's pretty good. But, you have to realize that the bus will make frequent and many stops. So, if you add that factor to the already heavy traffic factor, it may take you quite a while to get anywhere. Hope that helps and good luck.

How bad is traffic from Waikiki to Tripler?
I will be moving to Oahu shortly and will be working at Tripler. I've heard traffic is horrible (though, coming from So. Cal, I'm plenty used to it:banghead:). I plan to get a car once there and will be working nights. What's the best time to leave Waikiki to make it there by 7 pm? How's the return traffic at 7 am? Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, or opinions about working OB at Tripler? Any travlers needing to get rid of a car? I'm looking for something very reliable...doesn't need to be pretty, but needs to be in good shape. I'd be willing to pay up to $2000. Mahalo
