You should check out the Banner Community Nurse Program they pay your tuition for a work commitment and guaranteed a position afterward and you can also work as an extern while going to school which is the cherry on top!

That sucks you guys I didnt have that problem on that unit, I had a very positive experience there but when your a new grad or precepting you kinda just have to go with the flow and soak up as much as you can. Im very proactive about situations like that. I didnt have those issues. Sorry guys!

Hi, Banner is AWESOME! I think they are like the 2nd largest employer in the state of AZ and its a magnet/teaching hospital. Banner has a really good rep in the community and is a non-profit hospital. Im going thru one of thier nursing programs and I love it so much! Good Sam is more in the down town phoenix area so like any other metropolis you get everythng that comes along with that but I always feel safe. I dont live around here though. I commute from Peoria which is about 17 miles away so no biggie! I really recommend you come to Banner if you want to have a good Nursing Career. Ive talked to a lot of different facilites that offer huge sign on bonuses and the facilities are a nightmare. I had a friend who worked for IASIS (St. Lukes) out here and she wa offered like $7500.00 sign on bonus and let me tell you... there was a reason why! I figure if its too good to be true something is wrong! Just be careful its all about what kind of career you want to have not the money and Im finding that out. I did a lot of homework on the facilites out here and I kept coming back to Banner, Im so happy.

Okay,so I'm going thru the Nurse Fellows Program at Banner and Im having such a great experience! Everyone is so helpful and its making my life so much easier being able to depend on them since school is so crazy! Ive just applied for an extern position at Thunderbird but I was offered at Good Sam CVICU, Yay! Ive heard such great things about both facilities but I love T-bird and I know Good Sam is a magnet/teaching hospital so its hard to pick!! Can anyine give me any opinions on experiences you've had at either???HELP! Thanks, good luck everyone!
