  1. I think everyone feels that way after taking that test. I took mine in June and felt the very same way. Many people I talk to have had the same feeling. Just stay busy and don't obsess over it, that's what I did and I drove myself crazy. Then I cried when I found out I passed!! Best of luck to you!! Let us know how it goes!!
  2. I just wanted to thank you all for the advice. I took accepted the postion today and it feels so good!! I took your works seriously and followed my heart. I am so excited to begin my journey in this area. My orientation will be for 3-4 months. And the manger said it is extensive. She says I am first in line for the next day shift. It's worth it to me to tough out the nights for now. I can't say thank you enough. Oh, what a wonderful feeling I have right now!!! :roll

  4. Okay, I am a new grad that is working on a cardiac floor which I am really not happy with. My dream has always been L and D. The manager on the floor said I have a night postion if I want it. She said I can then go to days when a spot opens. I am really excited about the idea as it would be postpartum care, L and D, and nursury. I am afraid however nights will be extremly slow and boring. My question is, is it this way on the night shift?
  5. Hi, I am new here and just got transfered (not by choice) to a cardiac step down unit. They closed my med-surg floor. I just graduated in May and said I would never work on a caridac floor....I just have never had any interest in it. Well, here I am now on this floor. The nurses are so different and I am not passionate about cardiac stuff. I do like the ratio of 4 patients to nurse however. I am wondering if I stay if I will grow to like it or if I should just go somewhere else now and not waste my time. Could I please have some advice???? I am so stressed about it!
  6. Hi, I am new to this forum and am in need of advice. I just graduated in May, passed my boards in June. I started in May on a Med-Surg floor that I loved! The staff and I were like family and I learned so much for the past two months. I enjoyed staying busy however I didn't feel comfortable with the ratio of 6 patients at times. Anyway, they closed my floor permantly now and the staff was all forced to go different ways. My options to stay on days were cardiac or ortho/neuro. I show no interst in ortho and on the other hand I absoultly hate cardiac stuff. Well, I have ended up on the cardiac floor. I dread going to work and the nurses there are so different. I feel like I don't fit in. My dream has always been L and D. The manager said I have a spot there if I want it, the kicker is it's the night shift. She said that the first day spot that opens I can have and I can do nights till then. I just don't know what to do....what if I get to L and D on the night shift and it's slow...I like to be busy. My husband is not thrilled about me working nights either although it will work out with our kiddos. Please give me some advice....how do you figure out your calling? Sorry for the long post. I am just so depressed about it all right now.
  7. I wouldn't stress to much. I just found out yesterday I passed with 175 questions. I know exactly how you feel being right in the middle of the questions amount. Let us know how you did, I am sure you did fine!!
