  1. I just finished my second year in a four year program and as the time has progressed in the program I found that there was too much material to "study" it. I found that when I tried to study and learn everything that I didn't retain it and my marks were not as good. So I tried a new method of reading and rereading and rerereading and I made the deans list. There is no way you can know it all but you need to have an overall understanding and often when I read and reread the larger picture becomes much clearer to me. what ever you do don't try to memorize anything...it's useless...way too much stuff. :) One of my profs just told me to keep plodding on....keep trying...you can do it! best advice I have received so far!
  2. Great Links! Thanks for the help!:roll
  3. I always feel for the bone and move in one inch and find it every time - hold your left arm out, palm side up, feel for the bone by your elbow joint and move over one inch ( I practiced at first but have found that this bone joint works every time) Also if you press too hard it will block the pulse, use two fingers and press lightly Hope this helps
  4. Hi everyone, I am looking for any information on the mental status examination. I am presenting a power point presentation on monday to my class of second year nursing students on the aspects and components of the examination. Mood and affect speech characteristics Perception Thought Sensorium and cognition insight and judgment stress and coping patterns Does anyone have any tests that I could perform with the whole class for a classroom activity.
