Dear all, i came acorss some cases on bipap or ventilator, dr will check the thyroid function test occassionally; and i ve checked that ppl with hypothyroidism will prolonged their weaning from ventilator, so replacement of thyroxine can help. but why ppl on ventilator will more prone to hypothyroidism, is there any relationship between them? thank you

  8. Dear all, I have asked some RNs about why added to Gelofusine, and they said that its because the insulin is being absored in the plastics tubing of IVset tubings as what talaxandra said. So Gelofusine is act like vehicle solution to enchance the effect of the insulin . and i hve found a article which is similar to this situation . http://ndt.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/18/8/1677

  10. the patient is not hypotensive, admit for adjusting insulin dose as poor DM control. When infusing Actrapid+Gelo, we ve to take Q2H h'stix to see the blood glucose level so as to adjust the dose of insulin of the Basal-bolus regime
  11. Hello, i would like to ask a what is the purpose of adding 50units of Actrapid to 50ml of Gelofusin and the patient admit for hyperglycemia with poor DM control. The dr is adjusting the dose of insulin. But i just wonder why Gelofusin but not others? thanks!
