lOOKING FOR A NEW GRAD OPPORTUNITY FOR A YEAR NOW. TRICKY IN ATLANTA, IT SEEMS THAT IF YOU ARE ALREADY AN LPN, SOME NEW GRAD PROGRAMS WANT TO SAY YOU ARE NOT A NEW GRAD BECAUSE YOU ARE ALREADY A NURSE IS WHAT I WAS TOLD BY ONE HR DEPT. BUT YOU can'T GET HIRED AS A STAFF NURSE EITHER BECAUSE I HAVE NO RN EXPERIENCE. STUCK IS HOW I FEEL:rolleyes: ANY ONE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS GETTING IN BECAUSE OF THIS???

yes, but I have passed the boards in Georgia which will not issue me a License not even a temp license. So, I cant work here in the VA. Until I work in Macon, Georgia because no other hospital that accepts us unless employed with them already.Macon is too far to travel for me, I have small kids in daycare and no family. EC should help those who are stuck and can't go to Macon by finding us somewhere in atlanta to do the additional clinical hours since this was not part of the original agreement made for their program. I am very unhappy with it all. I am still waiting.

I am still waiting for an answer. They declined Long term care facilities, nursing homes so far. I enrolled before 2008 also but my employer where I have worked for 11 yrs. refuse to give information on details about my OB,PEDS,Adult experience to the board. I am working with EC attorneys but still waiting 6 mos now. I have to option of not challenging the decision and going to Macon, Ga. but it's too far away. Many over 400 are still stuck in the tubes.

Anyone doing a preceptorship for EC in Georgia. 12 yrs as LPN and the GBON still wants preceptorship. The new rule change states they will except longterm care but I was told the Longterm care center where I worked was not on her list and that my experience in other clinics does not count.

Anyone out there who is currently or soon to do preceptorship for EC? I live in Georgia and I have 12 yrs as LPN but the BON only wants to accept a certain job where I worked less than a year. I am frustrated passed nclex months ago.

I used the NCLEX 4000 , SAUNDERS 4TH EDITION AND FAILED. WHAT EVER YOU SCORE IS WHEN YOU TEST THAT IS YOU NCLEX SCORE BECAUSE I WAS SCORING 69-70 'S AND I FAILED THE NCLEX WITH NEAR PASSING IN EVERY CATAGORY.MY ADIVCE IS IF YOU ARE SCORING BELOW 80 I WOULD NOT TEST. IT ALSO REPEATED THE SAME QUESTIONS ON THE CD. MY EXAM WAS NOTHING LIKE THE CD NOT EVEN SIMULAR.:uhoh3:STUDY MEDS AND PRIORTIZATION-DELIGATION

YES, I understand that, but does anyone know if or when the final decision will be made. I think they should wait to put that kind of information on their web site, especially if they are uncertain that it will be in effect at all. My employer is skepitcal about Excelsior College due to all the noise. They would like me to test here in the state instead of another state. I would like to keep my job due to the economy. Any ideas about if/when....???:uhoh21:

I called the GBON today and asked if I could apply for a Georgia licensure she stated no. It is only by endorsement right now . She said that" They have not decided if or when we will be able to test here." What a slap in the face. I quoted what was posted on their website but she insisted, the decision had not been made yet to allow us to test here. She sounded irritated that I had even asked. And said to me, we can only work here by endorcement. Do you guys think they are going to keep this in limbo until Sunny Prudue term is up and give us a problem again???? I don't understand why she would say They have not decided If we will ever be allowed to test here????I thought this was already decided..:zzzzz Continue to pray, those who are believers.

I am waiting for my clinical date, just as many others are. I was not surprised by the Boards Decision . I Spoke with my advisor at EC and was told that they are not finished with this issue yet! And that they had a letter faxed to the Board by Sunny Purdue stating that he wants EC endorced. They ask that we remain calm as possible and do not write letters to our congressmen right now, is what I was told today.This stubborn Georgia Board only wants to wait to get the law rewritten because they say their hands are tied. This is very unfortunate to the nurses of this state and the students waiting for our chance to work here. But, those of us who believe in the power of God! can not be moved by what we seen. Faith is what we must stand on , knowing that the outcome will be alright. They won this round but ,:bowingpurThe fight is not over YET!!!!:argue:

The Meeting Is Scheduled For Thursday. Please Keep Us In Your Prayers. Many Of Students Have Recently Finished Excelsior . I Am Waiting On My Cpne. It Is Ashame Our Lives Hang In The Balance Because Of 1 Lady. Sharon Cooper Who Bagan The Fight To Remove Distance Learning Nurses In This State. But Overall I Trust In The Lord And He Will Not Let Us Suffer Because Of Her. I Know This For A Fact! I Will Keep You Posted On What Happend.

YES, I am now on the CPNE list waiting for my test date. This decision after 25 years of dealing with Excelsior Students is apolling. We should and must stick together. Those who have began and especially finished the program shall be rewarded our degrees ! I have been in the Medical profession since 1984. I am clinically prepared ,:zzzzz:coollook: wouldn't you think, but I am willing to do additional clinical rotations if it is mandatory. Let us pray the our Heavenly Father will intervene in this decision. We should and must rely on intervention from someone with a Higher Authority, (Our heavenly Angels ) to take care of this for us. On the day of the Meeting we should come together in prayer to reinforce our knowledge about Excelsior and look forward to leaving these meeting victorious. remember for" If God be for us , Who can be against us". "We are more that conquers through Christ Jesus who strenghtens us:bow:". We must have Faith and confidence in these words. This challenge is a opportunity for Georgia to accept Excelsior students not only by Endorcement but with a little revision they may License us in this state as well.
