  1. Hey! I just started at PCMH. I too am a Canadian and really wanted to go to Mission! BUT I wanted to work in L&D. Mission wanted me to do M/S first, so I chose PCMH. PCMH is a great teaching facility and they readily take on new grads, so I would think your chances of getting into ED are a lot better here. So far I really like Greenville and the hospital. If you need any help with the Licensing and Documentation stuff I can give u some info. Good luck with your decision! ~Donna
  2. Hey there! My hubby and I moved to Greenville in June from St. Catharines, ON Canada. I just started at PCMH this week in L&D. So far we are enjoying Eastern NC. Spent lots of time at the beach this summer, went sailing with some friends, and found a great church. It sure is different down here in "the south"! I don't think we have picked up the accent YET. I heard that there are a lot of Canadian RNs down here, and hopefully I can hook up with them to celebrate some holidays (my hubby's an American). The hardest part about being down here so far away from the Great White North is... not having my Tim Horton's! This city could REALLY use one (or two). Luckily I stocked up before we moved. LOL. Canadian RNs at PCMH, feel free to message me. We can get together for Tim's at our place! ~Donna
  3. Hi there. I am will be graduating this spring and am interested in working at Beaumont Royal Oak. I am a Canadian, and my husband is from Michigan. I would like to start working in Labour and Delivery, as I plan on getting my nurse midwifery in a few years. Does anyone know if Beaumont hires new grads, and if they do, would I be able to start in Labour and Delivery? I've been offered a full-time position in L&D in North Carolina. I would like to live in Michigan, as my husbands family live there and is only a few hours from my family, however getting labour and delivery experience is very important. So what are my chances of getting into L&D at Beaumont as a new grad??????
  4. Hi there. I am graduating this spring and recently received a job offer for a Labor and Delivery position at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. So far, everything about the hospital I have looked into and heard is very positive. They seem to have a strong focus on education, which I think is great for a new grad. Also, they are a Magnet facility, which also impresses me. Can anyone give me some more information about their experiences at PCMH? Has anyone worked in L&D there? What is Greenville like? I understand that there are quite a few Canadian nurses at PCMH. I would like to know how your experience has been, and whether you would recommend this hospital to new grads, such as myself. I will be going down for a visit before I make my decision, however I'm sure there are lots of other nurses out there who could give me some advice. Thank you! ~Donna
