  2. Here in Manitoba, some of my friends who failed this Feb.2010 already got a call from the licensing body, that they diid not make it.They were informed a head of time and did not have to wait for the letter.Gd luck to all!
  3. I have talk to some of my friends who retook the exam today, they were unanimous that it was much easier.Gd for them;). Good luckto all!
  4. Good Day, Make sure the reviewers are CRNE passers, and have preferably work in Canada so that they would know and could correlate what they are talking about. When I went here in Canada, I was tempted to review on the said locations, but because of my schedule and pretty high charges, opted not...no regrets.it is up to you,if you think it would help you pass the exam. Nice to know that PNA in the Province of Manitoba is active, they conduct free outlined reviews of subjects for Internationally Educated Nurses a month or so priorto exam, and you can attend it in person or by telehealth(broadcast live from your hospital/facilty,..just seat and listen). Goodluck;)

  12. To all Filipino readers, When all this retrog. is over, we can say to our selves that thru persistence and hardwork that our dreams will happen as long as there is hope!
  13. As I check and look back at my answers now, the more I get frustrated with my wrong answers. It was indeed tricky, the way they worded it was reallya factor ....oh well, lets wait and see.
  14. The recommended pencil to be use is HB2,i think. Check at the back of your CRNEprep guide,(sample answer sheet), I believe it is stated there. In the registration letter that they provided, it states they will provide us pencils. I assume you are all set for the exam and worried about this things.
  15. Goodluck to all th examinees this coming Wednesday. We have waited for this, Godbless all Nurses:yeah:
  16. When the Canadian employers when to our hometown, I would like to believe I was chosen by my experience, credentials, personality and even luck.I consider my self as an above average, compassionate and competent nurse, well in my humble opinion.hehe. I think regardless of nationality people can claim they are the best nurses, proving it is another thing. We are all nurses, we took our oath to serve and give the best nursing care possible, the problem is sometimes we make a big issue of our trainings. The best nurses are those who regardless of setting can be efficient and adjust through any changes and challenges. The best measurement will be patient satisfaction. I think Canadian nurses are undervalued,IMO as compared to Americans.primarily because our( my country)nursing education and books are mostly/entirely base on american setting and we were made to believe that ameirica is the ultimate destination for nurses hehe! Some of the Canadian nurses that I've talked to ,told me that they are understaffed because their newly gradiuate nurses and some well experienced nurses are migrating to America.well everybody wants to go toAmerica I guess. My previous working experience is quite different from Canada, although the principles remains the same.I may be having a hard time but it is not impossible to accomplish.3 months from now my views may be different. The same thing can be said that Canadian nurses may have a hard time adjusting if they will work in our setting, initially. My Caucassian client told me "oh your one of the new ________ nurses, you are known to be caring...."did not get the whole statement, because you know why?..,I was busy analyzing on how to use a gadget to llift and transfer her up in the commode, infact she wasthe one who became my mentor and taught me how to use it, probably her views may now be different after our initial encounter, hehe. Well I do not see any displeasure of the canadian nurses that I work with so far, infact I think they are glad that we are here for support. They can even take their breaks now, get better shift and probably have more time unwinding.
  17. I have started my duty on the floor for two weeks now, initially I felt I have so much to do,and learn, step up in terms of being an efficient nurse here in Canada. From communication, skills and knowledge in certain situation. It is indeed tough to work here.My coworkers are very good, some how I asked those who are planning to work in Canada, to assess their motivation, it is no joke here!
  18. I have been here for 19 days now in Manitoba, and we are almost done with our two weeks orientation. Back home I use to think my institution has too much paperwork, but after a few days of getting to know all the necessary documentation and forms here in my assigned region... I was wrong:uhoh3:.Actually our lecturers assured us that they just don't love to kill trees here,:DIt is just a few ways to safe guard our clients and of course our license.I have been a surigical ICU nurse in the Philippines for two years...I believe my experiences there are different interms of approach,as well as knowledge .They have equipment here that is way better to make nursing less stressful than it is.There is an adjustment with our skills as it vary according to the facility you areassigned.Few weeks from now I will be one of the nurses on the floor, hopefully I can adopt and respond to the changes in my nursing career, and perform of what is expected of me,..no pressure:rolleyes:
  19. talk to some residents here, and they said that spring this yr iscolder and windy.Seen the hospital but my work will start 3 wks from now,let us see what happen!
  20. To janfrn, silverdragon and staff, Just arrived a few hours ago in Winnepeg,Manitoba. It is just 10degrees but Iam freezing, hehe, not use to it. Everbody was warm and welcoming, looking forward working with all of them especially our patients. Godbless, Mcgyver
  21. Mcgyver replied to lilylily's topic in Canada
Hello Lillylily, As an IEN and intend to work in Manitoba, I also applied for registration in CRNM and it took 2 months processing,( my requirements were sent thru courier which is faster).I am also a second courser, and I did not encounter any problem..remember they base their assessment thru your transcripts, so it is case to case basis. Two of the requirements are verification of practice hours and documentation of registered nursing experience and practice. check this site: http://www.crnm.mb.ca/applicants-international-requirements.php What i know is that it should be a paid experience. but it is no harm asking and trying ,so try to vist their website: http://www.crnm.mb.ca/ at the lower left of the webiste, there is a box with a picture of pretty lady, you can actually talk to them online (chat) ,11pm to past midnight Philippine time.. if you have further inquiries, the staff are very helpful. Goodluck, Mcgyver
  22. i partly agree with jungleboy, except the special mention of filipino nurses!:icon_roll
  23. i was checking your previous posts, and almost all seems to be a topic against filipinos...very "consistent".you really devote and consume to much of your time reacting to post about filipinos. well, jungleboy there are many nationalities who are qualified, determined and can wait for many years to come to your beloved country, who knows, they might be your caregiver in the near future.
  24. This is a hate thread. I appeal to the moderators to look into this one.The title seems to be informing the general about April VbB but the content is to bash filipino nurses. We could raise a point without being mean.
  25. why do you single out philippines or filipino nurses? what's your problem? not all are dying to go to us you know. chill out!
