  1. Hello BostonNurseNic, I had a great relationship with my previous director and so she was contacted as a professional reference and to verify employment. You could speak with the recruiter and see exactly what they need because they do need to verify your employment (start date, job title, and even salary). This could definitely be done by somebody in HR at your current job unless they need a professional reference.
  2. Hello. I received my offer in late August. I had to give my previous employer a 30 day notice so I started the first week in October. They want you to start at the beginning of a pay period and so that also caused a slight delay.
  3. Hello, I am currently waiting for an official start date. I was advised by my director last week, that the VA called my HR dept. to verify my employment date and salary information. So, hopefully I will hear something soon. When I went for my physical and fingerprinting, I stopped by the Recruiter and was advised that the Vetpro process can take up to 45 days, sometimes longer. I have come to realize that this process requires patience. So to date, it has been 2.5 months. That includes my interview in June and then all the other stuff. I hope this helps.
  4. I agree this post has really been helpful to me. I interviewed in June, received a tentative offer the first week of July, and due to the holiday and vacation my credentialing (Vetpro and equip), fingerprinting, physical, and reference check was all delayed. I just completed the last thing, my physical, last week and now I am waiting for my final offer. I agree with the previous posters that recommend for you to stay in contact with the recruiter and individuals that are doing your credentialing. So far, everyone has been very nice and helpful. I am being patient and waiting for that final offer. I was advised by my recruiter that I probably will not start until September. My position was for a community health nurse. :)
