  1. I need helpful tips/ideas for making MDS team stronger, we seem to have one of every personality these is know to man kind! and was wondering how everyone else keeps up the moral? Just been brainstorming and thought I would ask the experts!!
  2. We have 2 mds nurses, 113 beds with MCR census for 35-55, (we are at 51 today)and if the MCR census is over 45 approx we can use a PRN nurse 1-3 days a week depending on census. We had 60 admissions last month so needless to say we havent done a 3.0 MDS yet- should be by end of week....
  3. Had a long reply but lost it!! Thanks for the advice guys its nice to be able to talk about it. I will start documenting everything
  4. Thank you for the replies!! The problems are she thinks she should be the coordinator since shes the rn and has to sign my mds's yet she has only been doing them for 1 1/2 years and ive been doing them for about 6 years. She can do the assessments but doesnt know the other info. She also thinks that im holding the info back from her Ive told her is comes with exp i cant possibly sit her down and teach her everything. I do answer everything she asks and when stuff comes up I try to explain to her but half the time she doesnt have time to learn! I just dont know how else to help her
  5. No one can help?
  6. Calling all LPN coordinators: or anyone that can help :) Do or did you have problems with RN's that worked with you in MDS(lpn/rn issues) and how did you deal with it? Thanks
  7. Hope you got my message Thanks again!
  8. First it has nothing to do withg me liking it or not. Yes, you have in be a RN to sign but not do a MDS. Second IF it was against the law one would think that it would state that in the manual, which it doesnt. The point was you dont have to be a RN to be great at MDS!
  9. BREATHE You will get this!! My problem in school was breath sounds. Just remember not to be breathing to hard while trying to hear, it might sound stupid by you could be breathing to loud to really hear the thumps? Good luck and remember you will get it!!!:heartbeat
  10. Good luck to you all enjoy your break:yeah:
  11. wow here they have nurse 24/7
  12. I know the feeling! It is nice to know Im not alone though. hehe
  13. This is what we do too. But if they are ins/MC and under 65 we will treat them like ins and just do admission assessment
  14. LPN here also and am the coordinator and have trained a few RNs to help me. You dont have to be RN to be one and its doesnt make you any better at MDS's either. Last I checked they dont teach MDS in ANY nsg program And my company paid for my RAC-CT too. Plus the RN that was the coordinator left 2years ago and since I have been it, our rate have gone up! ALOT so......
  15. I would love a template if you dont mind? For both forms [email protected] Thanks
