Is the pay really that bad??
Where in Texas do GVN's make that? In a small town like Del Rio GVN make $16-18 dollars an hour.

She is sleeping with a patient.............
That is so true. I always say, What am I doing that is unethical? Should I throw the first stone? Would I want my co-workers nursing or not to be scrutnizing my work or work ethics. As a new nurse myself I can say, how do you have time to be watching other coworkers personal life? I have my own life to watch and be worried about. Just some peices of advise... Do your job. Watch yourself. I am sure that in your past you must have some skeletons in your closet as well. I dont think that is your first job and if is well then there is a lot to learn. One last thing the golden rule... Cover your ass**quimo!

Forensic Nursing (FN): Programs
Hello siri, :smilecoffeeIlovecof I have a question I was almost finished with a bachelor in Social Science but headed for nursing instead. I am very interested in Forensic Nursing and that is reason why i switched careers. But there are no generic entry into the nursing field here in this border town with Mexico in Texas so I had to go back and start from scratch (Del Rio). I have just started my second semester for LVN/LPN and have applied for RN starting next fall. Am I going in the right direction? Should I finish my bachelor? I just needed 13 classes to finish the bachelor degree. Please advise.

Is 26 too old to go back to school?
Hello, My name is Karen from Texas, four years ago (your age) I started school to be an RN, but there was a problem, I was a single parent of two little ones and had to work to pay for a mortgage and a car payment plus bills etcccccc......... anyway, :uhoh21: I changed my major and instead seeked a business degree. I graduated in last year with an Associate and was half way to a Bachelor degree in Social Science. But when I was up on the podium something happened, when the LPN walked the stage, I realized that I did not want to graduate with the Business degree even though I had honers, I wanted to be up there with the Nurses. I had been in school for three years but I realized that this was not what I wanted to do. So what did I do half way through the Bachelor degree? I left my Social Science degree and a year later here I am in nursing school right back to where I started, wanting to be a nurse. I reconciled with my husband and we are still hanging in there. There have been hard times but if u want to do something follow your heart. Last week I justed turned 30! (I would have a BSN by now).:mortarboard:
