  1. Hi, I am also a Finn from Savitaipale. I earned my nursing degree in Las Vegas
  2. Thank you for your reply Suznne.
  3. Thak you Geena. I contacted Stadia Ammattikorkeakoulu and they were able to give me some good advice.
  4. I am a Finn. I got both of my degrees from US bachelor of nursing and bachelor of health science in community health. Now I am in Finland trying to figure out how to best use my nursing degree which I earned in US. According to National Medical Affairs in Finland there is not any agreements between Finland and US that registered nurse who earned they degree in US can work in Finland. If I would have earned my degrees from any European country the degree would have been completly transferable. The National Authority of Medical Affairs advised me to contact nursing schools to see how my degree transfers. Nursing schools in Finland fucntion independently from each other therefore I was informed to contact the closest school where I would most likely complete the classes which were till necessary in order to get a nursing license. I contacted the Kymeenlaakson Ammattikorkeakoulu but they have never dealt with this kind of situation before so I did not get very far. Has anyone been in this same situation before? Anyone who has studied in US and then gone back to their home county either in Finland or any other scandinavian country? Or does anyone know which European country accepts best nurses who have gained their eduction in US. Any input is appreciated. Thank you.
  5. I have one more question. In the place where it asks about "license information" should I mark NO for the question were they ask if the lisence is for the life time (because you could loose your active license if you do not complete the continuing education). Sorry to ask so simple questions but I want to make sure I complete the form right the first time. Thank you for your help.
  6. Hi, I am filling out my vc and the section asking about my education. I have two BSN degrees. Nursing degree from UNLV and community health degree from BYU. Would I classify both of my degrees to the category of "professional" or would I only classify my nursing degree as professional and my community health degree as post secondary non-professional? (I was able to complete my BSN of nursing fast because most of my prerequisite classes transferred to BYU. I only took nursing classes at UNLV) After reading the cgfns package I was a little confused and I just wanted to confirm that I only need to send the "Request for Academic Records" from to the schools I classify as "professional school". I have attended many schools and I got my associate degree of science from different school than I got my baccalaureate degrees. In the section where they ask which U.S. visa you plan to obtain from the U.S. government do most nurses request permanent green card? Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you very much.
