What pay wage can I expect in ATL?
Peace, I'm thinking about searching for a weekend job at a Private Duty case preferably as a Medicaid Provider, Hospital, or Nursing Home in ATL/Clarkston to test the waters since I'm thinking about relocating. I would be based in Brooklyn but am open to working in all boroughs. I have 12 years nursing experience in just about all areas that my LPN scope allowed. What should I expect the hourly wage offer to be? Do the Hospitals & Nursing Homes have weekend contracts working 12hr or 16hr shifts? Peace Wisedome

Travel nursing in NYC
Peace, I'm also interested in doing Traveling Nursing in NYC or NJ. Do they hire LPN's, and what type of med test did you have to take? Peace Wisedome

Freaking out here!!!!
Peace, Most nursing homes and in my personal exp the job title for all nurses are Charge Nurse or Team Leader. My orientation was about the same as yours but I had a lot of previous exp from working in a hospital, doctors' office, and going to nursing homes thru the agencies. Also, lucky to had 1 supportive friendly nurse that oriented me. The nursing home that I worked at had 9 floors. 1st fl was Special Care Unit/Dementia Unit, the 9th fl was Transitional Care Unit, and floors 2-8 were traditional nursing home setting. Every floor had the same set up, lay out. So if you work on one you worked on all of them. The difference came in with the staff, and some floors were heavier, more organized, had a great nurse manager, or great team work. You could always try asking for a longer orientation. Highest paying LVN job??
Peace 1st it does depend on where your geographically located. What I’ve found the highest paying LPN/LVN jobs are in the following order: Medicaid Provider-Contract Nursing-Traveling Nursing, Nursing Agency, Dialysis Center, Nursing Home, Hospital, and Doctor Office. I’ve also found that it’s not what you know, but who you know! Peace Wisedome

Afer you passed NCLEX, how fast did you find a job?
peace, i introduced myself to the nurse recruiter & the human resource personnel of the hospital that i did my clinical rotation at. they told me to contact them when i had scheduled my nclex which i did. after i got my passing results they scheduled me for multiple interviews. i was very lucky to snag my dream job of working on the ob unit. that job description actually called for an rn with 3-5 year nursing exp including ob exp. i was a new licensed lpn with no working exp. peace wisedome
