Congratulation on the up coming birth of your new son. What a nice christmas gift. I am glad to hear you will be able to get a degree in nursing. I know it will be a long road but one worth traveling. As far as WIA I received funds for nursing school, you can go to your local unemployment office or like they say the employment office. what I understand the funds are for any nursing program. I am glad to hear from you and good luck with nursing school. If I can help with any just let me know.

The old saying birds of a feather flock together holds true in every field. You just need to move in a different circle. I am sure not all Louisiana nurse hate their jobs and are so bitter. I have meet many who are helpful and love to share in thier knowlegde but there is always a bad apple in every batch. Just smile and move on :wink2:

HI, I think I had you in my class. I sat at the end of frist roll in OB if you can remember who sat over there. I am probly One of the oldest students in the class If that helps. Let see Wendy and Kim were back there with me I am Dolores. I will be doing my clinicals at Lakeview (it is covington/madeville area). I am a little worried about the upcoming semester I have X which I have heard she is pretty hard on her exam's. I did not have her for managment but I heard she gave everyone fits. My clinical teacher I was told is fairly good, So we will soon see. I am just glad there is a light at the end of tunnel.

I will graduate this upcoming Dec. But you are right, the ob class was a rough class. I thought having three different teacher was very confusing and to cram into mini semester was something in its self. I really hated X question they were out there. Anyway I wish you the best of luck on the 15Th. It is always good to vent.

Sorry To hear what has happened. I also attended Sluson. I have heard that students are allowed to fail three classes before being kick out of the program. They just dont want to broadcast this. If you go in and plead your case ( show how the family problems had affected your studies and stress how you are attending school on a VA grant that could go away and you have no other way of paying for college.) You still have a chance to go back in the fall. Now I heard of someone who had similar problems with a family member and she was told she has to sit out for one year before returning. So dont worry I think you will get back in it is just what date the committee decides on. Good Luck

I will be 48 when I graduate in dec. 2008 with a BSN and Hopefully at the age 50 with a Master in nursing.

Pronouncing is not my cup of tea Iam bad at it. Hopefully it will get better with time.

I was working at a local hospital when I went into this elderly ladies room. I had notice she had ate all of her breakfast. I ask her how did she enjoy her meal she told me she did not eat not one single bite. So ask " well okay how ate your food?" she responded a big black bird well I just laughed and told her she better tell that bird to share with her . Well later on that afternoon I came in room right when she was eating her lunch and low and behold this big black bird hopped in thru the window and started eating this ladies lunch. I could not get over it !I would have never in million years taught there was bird really eating her food. Well we all laughed and made sure all of the windows were shut on that floor......

When I started I ask one of my instructors how many hours should I study. She told me to study as if it is a full time job. So if you have 3 hours of class on one day then that day you should study 5 hours. If you have 6 hours on another day then study 2hours on that day so on.... Totaling 40 hours every week. This way you can enjoy some off time without having school burnout. This has worked out for me but everyone is different.

WOW! I want to thank everyone who posted a response. It has shed some light on why some nurse look like they have just ate some sour grapes. The next time I see one looking that way I will now have some idea how to handle them. ( I will just smile bigger and be more helpful) Thanks Everyone.....
