First day of Orientation?
Thats great! I will be starting mine soon. And I thought 4 pts were overwhelming during my clinicals at the hospitals. I hope I survive! I loved the hospitals during my preceptorship but oh well, I cant be choosy when I have no experience under my belt at the moment. I am just glad someone gave me a chance...so new grads, don't lose hope!!

First day of Orientation?
is it a hospital, kcochrane? i know hospitals give a long orientation but ltc is a whole different story. plus, with the bad economy lately, all they can afford is 1 weeks worth of orientation at max.

First day of Orientation?
All I was told that the least they could give me was 3 day orientation, and its a night shift. I hope I am not the only RN and the charge, but they said that it would be heavy medpass, which probably means I'm not the charge.

First day of Orientation?
I know I have yet to start my orientation in the LTC, but I was curious about how it works out. Do you start passing meds on the first day itself or do you get to shadow an RN and see how the shift works? I mean LTC can be overwhelming with 30 pts and being a new grad, I am just a big mess right now; anticipating my nights shifts ahead. I have read nurses first day experiences but I have yet to experience one of my own. I wish I knew it all but life doesn't work out that way....you have to crawl and fall before you start to walk I don't do good with these phases (being anxious kills me!) but I guess being hard on myself to learn and beat this phase works too.

Can a no-job RN work as a CNA??
I think when they said theres a nursing shortage, they should have emphasized and made it clear that its only relevant for the "experienced nurses" and the rest of us with no-experience doesn't even stand a chance. Maybe then, I would not have been misleaded or prepared myself for the worst.

Can a no-job RN work as a CNA??
I am a new grad, graduated on Dec '09 and just passed my nclex few weeks ago. I have had no luck with the job search, so much so that I haven't even got a call back from 50 places (close to, I guess) I had applied. Now, I am thinking of working as a CNA (although I don't have a certificate), and was wondering whether an RN can work as a CNA in the state of colorado? Is it me or the tough market?? This is really making me depressed and being an inernational student, I was granted a year of work authorization but I guess half the year is gone looking for a job. I don't know how to explain to my parents, this is just the lowest point in my life right now.

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
After paying for the quick results, I found that I passed!!!! I was so unsure about sitting for the NCLEX and was having thoughts about postponing it, but if you don't get over your fear, you never will. Well, I am one of those people coming back to testify that the PV trick really works!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank god that I found it and it gave me some peace of mind before the results were out. So, for those of you still waiting for your results, don't doubt because this really works!!

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
I took my nclex-rn this morning and just like everyone, I came through this "PV trick" while in an attempt to calm myself down :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe and trying to google anything related to passing the nclex. I tried the trick and I wasn't directed to the CC page (phew!)...fingers crossed and I hope this is really true!! My results won't be out until SATURDAY....I will let you guys know if this trick actually proves to be true then. Until then, :chair:
