  1. Wow. I would really like to become a cuddler or snuggler but I am just 18 years old and I don't know if they will even allow me to hold a baby. I would like to volunteer and find out what it is like in the NICU before I apply to the unit.
  2. Well it's going to be my first year in college not in nursing school so hopefully I can accomplish it. Thanx for your words of encouragement tho.
  3. I think Miami is the best Florida city. There's so much going on all the time and there's so much to do. There are many hospitals to choose from. The cost of living is rising but that's the only con that Miami has.
  4. I've grew up in New Jersey and I always wondered if I should stay here in Miami or move back. I thought that the living expenses were more expensive in New Jersey but I guess not. New2ER, Why did you decide to stay here in Florida when the pay is so much lower?
  5. Well I'm currently a freshman in a University and I will be graduating with a bachelor's in science. My University has a nursing school and hopefully I will be lucky enough to be accepted my junior year. I have not asked them if they offer a preceptorship but I will do so soon enough. Thanx for your help... I am getting ahead of myself.
  6. Thanx Whicholdwitch? The site really helped a lot. It seems that most of the hospitals I look into are looking for someone with experience though.
  7. Hi guys. I decided to take Micro my first semester of my freshman year. Do you think I'm making a mistake or I made the right choice?
  8. HI I am very stressed right now because I don't know how to look for hospitals that offer preceptorships in Miami. I was wondering if anyone knew which hospitals offered it or if there were any hospitals in Miami who are hiring NICU nurses with no experience. I am interested in Miami Children's but have not found such information. *I would also like to know what the average starting salary for a neonatal nurse is in Florida. Please Help!
  9. I was looking into Miami Children's and Jackson Memorial but they didn't seem to have much information on the website. Thank you both for the advice.
  10. Thanx for your advice Dabuggy. Sounds like a recorder would help me out alot. Thanx again.
  11. Hey everyone. I was told that I should get a recorder for my Microbiology class because it is very helpful and it will help me remember. I'm a little scared about the writing notes bit because I wouldn't know exactly what to write or if I wrote down something that wasn't important. I'm confused about the whole situation.
  12. Congratulations. It's good to know that it can be done. lol
  13. The problem I have is that I am getting a loan and my loan doesn't come in until a week after school starts so I am getting a book advance (which means that my school will give me some money to buy my books) but I could only buy them in the Univerisity bookstore. I know of a place that sells the used books cheaper but I can't go a week to class with no books.
  14. Hi I am very excited to hear that everyone has received either an A or a B but I am kinda worried about taking it my first semester of Freshman year. Do you guys think I'm crazy for doing this or did I make the right choice?
  15. Wow you guys have really helped me alot. I've always wanted to be a neonatal nurse but I wasn't sure if I could handle it but now I know that I can. I'm so anxious to start already. Thank you all so much for your insight in Neonatalogy
