  1. Obviously MD anderson is known world wide and has a ton of funding which means state of the art facilities and supplies. Memorial still uses paper charts and is very disorganized in my opinion. They still have not converted to the computer age.
  2. Hello all! I am starting at the Houston program this fall and am so excited!!! If anyone wants to meet up for happy hour sometime in the Rice Village, email me at [email protected]. I am waiting tables at Brian O'neils right now, but I have a feeling I will have to quit very soon. Do any of you have jobs? I need one to pay for my apartment in the med center. Any suggestions other than taking out another loan? I'm thinking about teaching SAT at Kaplan down the street or something. AHHHH! And so it begins!

If you are a foreign nurse coming into the U.S. I would definately suggest taking a review course for the NCLEX. Kaplan has a really good one for international nurses. I would go to the National council's web site and give them a call. I know you have to go through CGFNS and submit your school transcripts. Then you can get permission to take the test. Do not submit your request for a test date until you are ready though because you only have 3 months to take the exam after you get approval. The whole process takes about a month I think. email me at [email protected]
  4. HCC is pretty good. If you have to go to a community college, I would suggest San Jac central, or North Harris cc. They both have high NCLEX pass rates and an excellent program.
