  1. No disrespect taken and I appreciate your advice... I probably should have been a little more broad in my question. I am currently a PI analyst for a hospital system and to an extent, I use my computer knowledge on a daily basis. Much of my work is building system level dashboards and analyzing the data. As well, I am a trainer for Crimson and am learning Midas. I love my work and plan to use this position to get as much experience as I can. However, once I do get the background, I would like to advance since this is not as high on the career ladder as I would like to be eventually and I hope my newly earned degree can take me to the next level. I would just like to know what I can expect a few years down the road with the experience + degree. Or maybe the better question would be where to look once I am ready to venture out?
  2. Well, I have passed my comp exam and filed my intent to graduate for my MSN - NI degree. I've been a nurse (not too much at the bedside though) for 12 years. Now I am just really at a loss for what to do with this degree. I love computer work...which is why I specialized in this area of study. Any suggestions from those in the field?
  3. Thanks Lynn! I currently do WC for a facility so I am pretty familiar with the laws, etc. I am really just having trouble finding the jobs to apply for out there. Our insurance company is Broadspire so of course, I looked there. But they do not have any positions in our area at this time. Unfortunately, I'm just not very familiar with all of the organizations that do that type of work.
  4. Do you have any suggestions for how to obtain a position such as yours? I have been trying for some time with no luck at all. Thanks!
  5. hello everyone! i am trying to not become completely discouraged. i have been searching and applying for cm, ur, dm positions with insurance companies for about 2 years now without success. i have been a rn for 10+ years and have vast experiences. i also am almost finished with my msn. i have worked in icus early in my career, pre & post op, clinical research, medical-legal case review, and most recently staff development (including wc). i have worked at home previously (was laid off from that position) and would eventually like to do so again at least some of the time. i don't necessarily have to have an insurance company but know i do not want a hospital based position. i live in alabama. i'm not sure if it has been where i have been searching or if it is a location issue. but, i know there are many on here who describe having and applying for the type of position i am looking for. if you have any suggestions, please pm or respond. thanks in advance!
  6. What are you doing now?
  7. does anyone know what the most popular companies are for telecommuting or work at home positions in medical reviews or cm, ur? i know united healthcare, cigna, and aetna offer positions at times but are there others you can think of or have experience with? thanks!
