Hi. I have been a transcriptionist for about six years now. I started out by taking an online course through Education Direct. I wanted to warn you that, unless you have in house experience in a hospital or Dr. office you will find it hard to get a job through an online resource. I ended up working for an marketing IT company, which I love, but could not find a job in the medical transcription field because of my lack of in house experience. So, even though I graduated from the online course and passed all of the testing that the emplorers required I was still passed over for jobs. Good luck and congrats on the baby.

I agree completely. I worked alzheimer units for three years on night turn, and we had a lot of sundowners. To tell an alzheimers patient the truth, contradicting what they are saying, is basically calling them liars. Their reality and your reality conflict. Besides most of them, imo, tend to revert back to happier times in their lives, ie, childhood, young mothers, first married, etc. Why would you want to try, which is unsuccessful 99% of the time, to take that person out of such a happy time, back to the reality of being in a nursing home?

Well this is the first I've been in school for twenty years...lol Feels very strange saying that. I have just started two days ago, but right now it seems to be okay for me. I passed the first two quizzes but haven't gotten my first homework assignment graded yet. Wish me luck:uhoh3:

Hi, I'd like to join the club. I started A&P 1 this weekend because I started the class late I had to make up the last weeks lessons and will not be credited for the 1rst week I miss. Hi, I am very new to the college thing and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what a Pell grant is? How much it is and what does it cover? I applied for student aid and it said my EFC was 0. I start my classes on Monday and I don't even know if I can afford to pay for it yet. Starre
