  1. DITTO!!!!! From the above statement:chuckle I feel the same way!! No offense...wish u well in your job search:nuke:
  2. Okay guys...so I didn't get the O.R. job!!! I spoke back with the director of surgery and the RN recruiter. The recruiter suggests that I should take a nurse refresher course, then I could re-interview, and possibly get into the next perioperative class in JAN. The refresher starts Sept. thru Dec. The Director said that everyone liked me and thought highly of me, but because of my gap from nursing school to getting my license (5yrs) Failed boards + having 3 kids exactly 1yr apart...whew:chuckle I've BEEN BUSY!!! Anyways, I have no nursing experience so if I took the course then I definitely could come back and re-interview...She told me I would make an exellent O.R. nurse!!! I just got a job offer @ a sub-acute facility and was wondering if I worked @ least 6mon. should I still take course, or would the course be silly to take now because I'm working...or do both???Any advice...PLS HELP!!! As always, thanks again guys...I will keep u updated!!
  3. I live in ohio originally from Florida, and I am still waiting for my endorsement to Florida...:angryfire It have been waiting now maybe a month! I have spoke with the BON and they told me 6-8wks approx. Yeah right:lol2: It probably will be longer!I definitely won't hold my breath. Some people have told me they are slow with processing endorsements! Hopefully u will have better luck than me...Good Luck to you.
  4. Well let me start off by saying I know it has probably been some this since this post but...I worked @ St.V's as a tech for 10 yrs...I just moved to Ohio and I am a new RN now.You are right as far as not being able to get into specialty areas being a new nurse...I will say that I love St.V's it was my home, but I also worked @ Shands for a period of 2yrs. By it being a teaching hospital I know that u can get into those areas even being a new grad...something for u to think about! The only reason why I left was because I got "homesick" and went back to St.V's...well I hope this helps and GOOD LUCK to you.
  5. Hi everyone...Just returned back home from interview in the O.R.!!! I must say that it was the most laid back interview that I have ever been in...I spoke with both the manager and director over the perioperative services, and I also met one of the trauma surgeons He was very down to earth, actually they all were...and I really enjoyed this interview!!!They told me they thought that I would fit in to their "team" and I hope and pray that I get this job...Still crossing my fingers...You guys let me know what u think...THANKS SO MUCH!!! ;)
  6. I can relate to what u are saying...Take it one day @ a time...Remember it is okay to breathe I aslo agree with some of the advice u have received...work for awhile, build up your skills and then once u feel that you are together, go back in with a clear mind.Perhaps do a little more research with other RN programs to find one more suitable to your needs. It sounds as though u just jumped back into school without taking time to yourself.Trust me, nursing schools are here to stay!!!!And they will be awaiting your return! Coming from someone who at the time went to nursing school with 3 small children and worked fulltime to getting out of the program for a semester and returning...to currently now having a total of 6 kids:lol2: ,my RN license, and happily married!!!!If I can do it, I know u can!U have the will, so u will make the way...I hope this helps you...Good Luck to you in your career, don't give up-STAY STRONG!!
  7. Thanks so much for comment!!!Again, all I can do is be myself Iwill keep u informed!!!!!
