  1. Code blue on a beautiful little 6 y/o girl. She was in a car accident. Had no visable injuries.... Looked like she was sleeping. Never got a pulse, never got any rhythem. She has a ruptured aorta and had bleed out internally. Everyone involved in the code, docs, nurses, EMT's and the cops were all tore up and tearful afterward. I even has dreams about the code for months after. I've been involved in hundreds of codes and never had one affect me like that one.
  2. I am male RN, there is a distinct lack of suitable and affordable mens scrubs. I like tops with deep pockets, sturdy materials and MALE prints. I don't wear teddy bears, butterflies and hearts but I do like dogs, cars, motorcycles, wildlife, etc. I don't wear lime green, orange, bright yellow or other loud colors. I like earth tones, blues, forest green, other NATURAL colors! I want tops that are long enough to cover the dreaded "plumbers crack" when I bend over. I want tops with shoulder room. I hate pants with ties, Give me elastic, wide waist bands and a darn zipper fly! Lots of deep sturdy pockets and no elastic cuffs. Tapered legs, with out so much extra material in the butt and hips.
  3. I has cath this past fall. Wasn't stented though, only very minor blockage. I was off a couple days at most, probably could have went back to work the next day. Minor soreness at the cath site with some bruising for a week or so. The doc recommended limiting "streneous activity" for 2-3 days past cath. Kind of vague. RKnauber
  4. I worked for 18 weeks straight. 11p-7a monday to friday and 7p-7a saturday and sundays. I was in my first year out of college doing a job I loved and I was desperatly needed to fill in. There were big bills from school to be paid and a lot of personal issues in my home life at the time. Working was an answer to the $ issues and an escape from a bad marriage. I will never work that way again!
