Political Science/Law. Don't even ask how I made that jump. While I love studying Law in theory, I need to interact with people to be happy. I worked in a law office this summer and I found that while Political Science classes are incredibly fascinating, in actual practice lawyers really do not spend that much time with people. My parents are both doctors and I had thought about going the premed route, but I know better than anyone that while most doctors like checking in on their patients and getting to know them, they simply don't have the time. Doctors rely on nurses to really get to know their patients and to act as an advocate for them. Growing up in a house with a doctor who relies on nurses every day, my father constantly stressed that nurses are just as important as doctors and that he would never be able to get his job done without them. Needless to say, my parents were suprised but incredibly pleased with my choice.
