  1. I think if you know for sure that your friends are using illegal drugs it is your responsiblity to tell someone. You can make a complaint to the BON without revealing who you are. This is unacceptable in the nursing profession and you always have to think about patient safety first. It doesnt matter when they are doing drugs the point is that they are taking illegal substances and this is wrong. You have to put yourself in that patients place and you know you would not want them taking care of you. So what if they have been to school for 2 stressful years obviously it doesnt mean that much to them because they are being irresponsible.
