  1. Hi, My VSC expires dec 2011. Do I need 7 in each sub of ielts or avg 7? Is it necessary to have it in one sitting or do they accept in two sittings? Also, I was working as a nurse in UK for last 8 years, will they accept it to waive off my ielts requirement? Pls advice Rgds
  2. i have learned that the immigration provisions that would have created 61,000 additional green cards for nurses as well as added a $3500 fee to h-1b visas have not survived the conference committee and will not be a part of the bill sent to the president (which he is set to veto). there is much speculation as to why this happened. many people were deeply troubled by the h-1b and its impact on non-profit and smaller employers. in order to allow senator grassley to save face, the push was made to strip all immigration provisions out, even though the h-1b fee opponents likely supported the nurses. we also understand the california nurses association, the most vocal anti-immigration nursing group in the country, worked behind the scenes to try and kill the nursing provision. nice that they care so much about their patients and would rather push death rates up rather than immediately dealing with the nursing crisis. reference: http://blogs.ilw.com/gregsiskind/2007/11/nurse-h-1b-fees.html
  3. Ya...but, people are taking NCLEX to go to USA. If they don't want foreign RN, let them close all international NCLEX centers and be happy with domestic nurses. Do you know how much we, people from Pilippines, India and China spending to attend NCLEX? We are spending our life time earnings to write this exam and if there is no visa...?? I am not for a fight...just expressing my feelings.. Rgds
  4. If they really don't want foreign nurses, why are they opening more NCLEX test centers every where in the world..?(to make money..?) I should have choosen Ausralia, instead of US. Mistakes are mistake, always.
  5. Thanks suzanne. My I 140 approved in Oct 2006.
  6. Even if there is no allocation for visa in October, will they process my papers further to Embasyy?
  7. Hi, Just a month before, I have paid visa fee to NVC and choice of agent form given. Re DS230, according to my employer, that was given very b4. I have received a mail from my employer saying my file has been forwarded a lot at NVC and hopefully it will forward to embassy in Oct. Now, Is their any chance that I will be included in this Oct visa allocation..? Any predictions pls.......... Also, I have down loaded a set of DS 230 form in case if they ask it again, to have it ready. Will they accept email/fax copy of DS 230 incase if they ask me to re submit DS 230 again.....? My PD is Oct 2006. Thanks
  8. Thank you Suzanne for explaining that. According to my Hospital, my next step is to get Choice of agent form and then pay the visa fee. DS230 was submitted before retrogression hit, it seems. So, can I consider my DS230 approved? Will I be able to get a visa interview..? What do u think? Thanking you advance for your reply.
  9. Then how come so many E3 applicants from India...??
  10. Yes ..you are correct..its looks E3 and EB3 are same.. Anyway, I am sure, There is not many Australians in India waiting for a interview date in Chennai embassy.(more than 50 in a month..? no way..)
  11. Dear Daisy If that is the case, how come all those E3 cat in Indian embassy..? not few..a lot...I don't think that many Australians are in India trying to go to US from India....!! that is not the reason...I think.. Rgds
  12. dear suzanne, thanks for your reply. my case is like this. my pd is oct 2006. when i contacted my hospital two days back i got a reply like this. "... the national visa center will now begin processing your petition. the next thing that will happen is that nvc will send you a request for agent form - be sure to put my name down as your agent: once you have returned the agent form to nvc they will then write to me and request the fees. i already submitted your ds-230's. after that, your file will be sent to the embassy . if nvc is not too backlogged with petitions , then you should have your embassy interview in four to six months from now. if there is a backlog at nvc it will be longer..." is their any chance that i can make it this time...? pls advice me thanks.
  13. My PD is Oct 06 and I am waiting for "choice of agents" form and then visa fee etc. My question is, according to June visa bullettin E3 PD date was 2003 June(India). But look at the interview dates for June...some of them are June 2006 PD date. U clear..?
  14. i am very happy to be the part of such a wonderfull community...!! thanks to all who helps each other. now.. below given is the link to the madras (india) us embassy interview dates for the month of july 07 http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/uploads/images/coagukwcwmmeu-1pz9wxhq/ivappoint0707.pdf below given is the link to the madras (india) us embassy interview dates for the month of june 07. http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/uploads/images/je2u4lhe0u-litpdued_fg/ivapp0706.pdf in both months, you can see, they have given appointments for the people whose i-140 approved in 2006 june(in e3 catgary ). june apponitment was given before july visa bullettin came out. how come? i am totally confused..!! also, if you say within few months/weeks this small window will be closed, then, will it go back to previouse cut off date ( for india it was june 2003)? pls some body answer both questions pls.. ----- ------ ------- reference to read a case number:- ......case number: the national visa center (nvc) gives each immigrant petition a case number. this number has three letters followed by ten digits (numbers). the three letters are an abbreviation for the overseas embassy or consulate that will process the immigrant visa case (for example, guz for guangzhou, cdj for ciudad juarez). the digits tell us exactly when nvc created the case. for example a case with the number mnl2001747003 would be a case assigned to the u.s. embassy in manila. 2001 is the year in which nvc received the case from the uscis (formerly ins). the julian date is 747 plus 500, so this case was created on september 4, 2001, the 247th day of the year. the 003 shows that it was the third case created for manila on that day. this case number is not the same as the uscis receipt number, which is written on the notice of action, form i-797, from the uscis. a consular section abroad cannot find a case if all you have is the uscis receipt number. ...... from http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/glossary/glossary_1363.html#cancelled rgds
