  1. Good luck everyone.
  2. The IV flow rate is volume/time, unless it's asking for drips per minute. In that case, you would use the drop factor. If it's asking for volume only, then you have to use a little algebra. The same goes for time, etc. Hope this helps. I don't want to confuse you more.
  3. Hi. I just finished my first semester at Darton. It was over the summer. I must say that it was a very positive experience. I loved all of the instructors. Here's the deal, you get out what you put in. You get what you get. There are no handouts or favortism (I need to learn how to spell, LOL). The instructors are very fair. It was ALOTTTTT of work. One thing that I can say is that I'd rather go through a tough program like Darton's and know my stuff when I'm done, than to go to a so called 'easy' school. Darton is very tough but I loved every minute of my first semester. You have to realize that Darton has a very good reputation for it's nursing program, additionally we have been approve for the new BSN program! Throughout the semester, you will have two classes, fundamentals and pharmacology, plus a fundamentals lab every week. The classes were very technologically driven, which i loved btw. We had access to classroom and lab videos to view at our leisure. We didn't do clinicals till the last two weeks of classes. The best advice that I can give to is to study hard because Darton is a tough program but you can do it. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants a good nursing education. Good Luck!
  4. and vocab...
  5. There is no conversion chart. Know your conversions and ratios and proportions.
  6. It is tuedays for now. i think that I may have to change it.
  7. Yes I have registered. Classes are every Monday with labs on different days. I am living off campus in some apts not too far from the campus. I do plan on moving on campus in the Fall.
  8. Oh no... I'm relocating... the time that i spend commuting ....6 hours a class, i could be studying. I'm studying my ass off! I will succeed at this wonderful career change.
  9. Well pewinsto,,,, from what i've read on this website, most people who are on the waitless seems to be of the first picking for the next semester,,, or if someone doesn't show, they will give it to the person on the waitlist. I hope you get in this summer with us. May God Bless!
  10. aww prettymica. Keep your head up. If I were you, I would have them to reevaluate that because your gpa should have started over at darton... was the 2.4 your gpa for the prereqs?
  11. @ John... My action plan was as follows: 1. Reapply for the fall nursing program 2. Plus, apply to the respiratory care program (seems like the program was easier to get into and rn's only make $3 or so more than respiratory therapists). There are many respiratory therapist who become nurses in the end. My plan was to do that then let the hospital eventually pay for me to go back to school to become a nurse.
  12. Thank you all so much. I think that all of us will be there before the year is out! I believe in each of you. :tku:
  13. OMGGGGGG OMGGGGGGGGGGG OMGGGGGGGG (Faints) I got my acceptance letter today!!!!!!! Thank you Lord!!!:clpty::dancgrp::monkeydance::beer::lvan:
  14. John your time is coming soon. The Lord does everything for a reason. You will be in this Fall! I'm scared to get my letter now.
  15. Hey everyone. Has anyone in Atlanta checked their mail? Any luck????
  16. You will make a wonderful nurse because your heart is in the right place
  17. The guy at the testing center told us not to worry so much about the scores. Keep in mind that they did do a personality test too. Who knows, maybe that plays a part too. God knows what's best.
  18. Hey Brad and Yolanda. Did they change your student status in myDC from prenursing to nursing?? Please let me know.
  19. Ok.. I'm nervous now. I've taken everything but Micro... I'm taking that this summer.
  20. Bran... Congrats!!!! So happy for you!!!!
  21. So if you live in albany, that means the Atlanta students will more than likely get ours on tomorrow... or at the latest on Friday.
  22. OMGGGGGGGGGGGG Girl I'm gonna choke you!.. LOL I am soooooooo happy for you. SO HAPPY!! Good JOb! I got my fingers crossed. Was the Envelope big? What color was it? Ok I'm nervous now. What was included in your letter????
  23. Oh.. you know what? You may be right because they do have to have room for people that failed their first semester. LOL DAMNNNN! lmao
  24. I just looked and clicked on the schedule for the Albany (Main) campus and there were 108 spots available for the summer. What campus were you looking at? I love this school for accepting so many students!!!!
  25. I know that's right. They should notify the applicants earlier because some people have to fit/change their whole life around this. I'm coming from Atlanta. I applied to College Park Apts but I just read some reallllllllllly bad reviews on it. That is a problem for me. The campus housing is requesting all their money upfront, another problem. Either I live in the affordable ghetto, or come up with the campus housing money. But to be honest, I will do what I have to do because I have my heart set on becoming a nurse.
