  1. First exams for AP II lab/lecture done, and both As. 8 more exams left this term, but I may only have to take 6 (professor drops lowest exam from lab and lecture, so 8 As would mean I don't have to take the last exams in each portion...though I will probably still take them for funzies).
  2. BSN programs all require electives; I would go for the BSN and take biology classes for fun or a minor. Like was said above, besides A/P there really isn't a need for bio in nursing degrees and it would add a lot of work/money to double major or to get a bio BS and then to the ABSN after.
  3. My uni still hasn't posted grades, but my professor let me know I received an A in lecture and an A in lab for AP I. It is good to finally know. AP II is much more advanced, which is wonderful because I wasn't being pushed too much to learn how to study. This is going so well, and I have 3 classes going right now, 5 in the fall!
  4. Still waiting for my final grades in AP I; my professor went on vacation right after submitting grades and the college still hasn't posted them. I am sure I received an A, but it is hell waiting. Monday I started the new term: 5 weeks of AP II, math, and a student orientation class. AP II is much more in depth than my I class, so I will be studying a lot more (especially with only 4 highest exam grades making up the entirety of the class grade). Good luck to everyone else in term 2 of summer classes.
  5. A week break would be great; my final is tomorrow in AP I and start AP II on Tuesday. Though, to be honest, I am pretty excited for it.
  6. Entering my final week of AP I and have 1 assignment, 2 exams, and 1 final exam. In my lab I still have the ability to miss 50 points and get an A, which means I could fail the last exam in there and get an A; hard work on the front end really helps to give you some breathing room. Lecture is basically the same story and there is a chance for 10 extra points on the final. I am loving it and am so glad I made the decision to go back to school. I will let everyone know how the last week goes, should have final grades posted in Friday!!
  7. Half way through A/P 1 and have solid A's in lab and lecture. Have another exam(second of the week) and my cat dissection practicum is today.
  8. What terms and ideas are you having trouble with in histology? Maybe those on this conversation string will have some good mnemonics to help out.
  9. Just got back grades from first assignments and exams...all 90% or above. I am going to keep rocking those grades out to get an A in A/P I and then on to II.
  10. First day was great, aside from the prof being 30 minutes late. He keeps it really structured and fast. It is great for note taking, which is good since we have at least one exam a week. I spent the last week studying A/P for dummies (great supplemental by the way) and it really paid off for participating and leading the class. After reading peoples posts about this class, I was a little worried, but this first class allayed my fears. It's going to be tough and fun.
  11. Starting A&P I in 3 hours. 5 1/2 hours twice a week for 6 weeks! I haven't been in school for 3 years (7 years since full-time), so I am excited and trepidatious. However, I have a good support network in place this go-around, and I will come to my fellow A&P-ers on this board for support as well.
  12. "There's no reason to have a Plan B because it distracts from Plan A." "Being realistic is the most commonly traveled road to mediocrity. Why would you be realistic? What's the point of being realistic? I'm going to do it. It's done. It's already done. The second I decide it's done, it's already done." Two of my favorite quotes from Will Smith.
  13. I am taking A&P I/II back to back this summer plus microbio, starting on 15th. Very excited, but this is my first college class in 4 years. Anyone else coming at this a little later in life? My goal is a 4.0 gpa this semester, which would allow me to be competitive for entry into a couple of the local BSN programs (screwed around a bit in my past college career) and I have an ADN program at the same community college I am doing these courses for my fallback.
