  1. I was also thinking taht same thing. I worked as a pedi surgical nurse for a year after graduation . now i'm in the OR, and was thinking about an MBA in healthcare management. It is true that I could get a MSN and also do management. I'm not sure. there are just too many options. I was kindsa thinking an MBA/HCM would be very marketable. But that is true that employers would probably support you more if you stayed in the nursing field. I'm glad i decided to look at this thread. thanks everyone. Also does anyone know about online nursing programs??? How good are they the classes are excellerated 6 wk courses, and you mee 2X per month and have online stuff the rest of the 6 weeks.
  2. HI EVERYONE!!!!!!:monkeydance: I also just started in the OR too . Today was my 3rd day.............. and wow what an amazing 3 days i have had. i am just learning the basics right now, like roles in the OR, started practicing sterile technique and opening up stuff on the tables............ I never knew all the roles of OR nurses, they have to be aware of everything going on. I feel pretty overwhelmed, because there is SO much to learn, mainly all the instruments, i am so glad that my orientation is about 8 months. and i TRY to be a perfectionist at times . OR nursing is a totally different world, i was a pedi surgical floor before this (as a student and as a new RN for a year), and what a difference.
  3. HI just wondering about forensic nursing jobs. I'm very interested in this, probably more in a role of reviewing the evidence, and cases. Not so much visiting the scene of the crime, where there a dead bodies. I have been looking online for forensic nursing jobs, and haven't seen any in MAssachusetts. I really want to pursue this, but If there are not many jobs out there, then...... I dodn't think I will. I've been a nurse for a year of a pedi surgical floor, and will be working in the OR for the next couple years, but I would like to start some classes soon. Any info is helpful. Not sure if I'm just not searching in the right palces. Thanks
