Passed my PCCN exam yesterday! It was hard.. and by the 50th question, I certainly thought Im not gonna pass. I got a 71. Barely made it. BUt hey, a pass is a pass. Lol Some questions/topics that I remember: Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome - i think i had 3 questions about this Prolonged QT interval - what causes it, tx, etc Pancreatitis - amylase, lipase, albumin (which ones increase/decrease?) Hyperkalemia treatments - 2 questions Types of MI and which part of the heart is occluded - 5 questions

I am due to take the PCCN next month. I still feel that I am not ready. I studied the Progressive Care Nursing certfication by Ahrens and Prenticee. I also have the AACN book Essentials of Progressive Care Nursing which I didnt dwell on because it has kind of the same content as the former. I felt that I need to answer more sample questions which is why I recently bought the AACN Certification and Core Review for High Acuity and Critical Care by Alspach. IT has 3 comprehensive exams, 150 questions each, and the answers have rationale. This is a study review for the CCRN. I get more correct answers with the questions in this book compared to my PCCN book. I wonder how different the actual exams are going to be... Will keep u updated.

I am here in California right now at San Fernando Valley. I'm a green card holder and recently working as an RN in an SNF but would like to work in a hospital setting. Can i get in even without the acute care experience?

Im a foreign graduate and currently working at an SNF and very much would like to work in a hospital. I was hired at Encino Hospital for the New Grad Program but didnt get to work because of the transition phase they had when they were bought by a new company. Its too late to apply now for any new Grad Programs in hospital coz they already started or most positions are filled. Will it be possible for me to get hired in a hospital without the Residency Program an dwithout any acute care experience? Im sure they would have to assign someone to orient me.. I need some advice from recruiters and any of you who can help me with this. Thanx.

i passed the june 2006 NLE and our license wont be released for a long tme because oath taking in manila has been suspended... my mom lives in california and im planning to take the nclex-rn exam.. i have a problem with the fingerprint card and that our school has already sent my transcript of records to the Sacramento BON through expressmail last 2weeks..(which means they probably have it by now) The thing is, I haven't submitted my application form yet. My mom tells me thatb I should apply in Vermont instead. What if my Phil license ha snot been issued yet? Will a certificate of passing from the PRC be sufficient to prove that indeed i have taken the local boards, passed it, and that I am just waiting for my license? Please help.
