NCLEX-PN Pearson Vue Trick
When I got my license, I checked the next day and my name is posted on the license verification. Im not sure when my name was actually posted on the website but pretty sure it was between the time I paid in person and when I got the card. That took about a week..

I first read Exam Cram book to refresh all topics and systems. Then I read Kaplan 2012-2013 book for test strategies.. then used Saunders 4th edition CD just answering qs everyday until the day of my test. Like tammuning said, never give up. Focus on your next exam and stay positive. You can do this!!

I just checked my mailbox and I got my license card! I wasn't expecting it as they said it'll take 3-4wks. So basically that's one week from the time I paid in person. Goodluck to everyone waiting for their results!

So a quick update for you guys: 1) Took nclex 10/11/13 - got good pop up until the day I got my results in the mail. 2) Results came exactly 4weeks after the exam - Passed. Therefore, PVT worked for me. 3) Drove to bvnpt office the ff week paid cash in person. Be sure to bring copy of your pass letter and exact change. They gave temp license good for 60days. Actual license will be mailed 3-4weeks. 4) Waiting for my license card. 5) Searching for LVN-RN or LVN-BSN programs in the bay area, SF or Peninsula - Any suggestions? 6) Find a part time job.. Hope this kind of helpful. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you guys! I'm here in SF and I plan on driving to Sacramento next week to pay my license in person. I don't want to rely on mailing the check which takes forever then for them to process it will even take it longer. So to cut some process time I think going directly to their office will be a better option. I will keep you guys updated!

BVNPT phone #: 916-263-7800. Press "0" to get connected to the operator but you will be put on hold average 40min wait. Just wait patiently. Do other important things while on hold. When someone picks up, make sure you ask them to check your status by SSN. Otherwise they will quickly to tell you that they're working on this date, so and so. This is my 4th week of waiting. I was told that they mailed my result on Nov1 and today is the 5th. How long does it take for regular mail to get delivered from Sacramento to San Francisco??

I called BVNPT just mins ago. I was put on hold forever. Finally the rep answered and I asked about the results. At first she told me that they are still working on Oct 10. Then I told her that how come I know someone who took the test same day as mine and was told that the result was mailed Nov 1. She then asked for my SSN and said oh sorry I guess I didn't update the system. Yes, your results should be in the mail today or tomorrow. Thanks Halen21 for the reference point. Hopefully we really get our letter today. I'll keep you guys posted!

It's the 3rd week and I haven't received the results. Have you heard anything from bvnpt? I called them but I keep getting disconnected due to the high volume of calls. Hopefully we get the letter by end of next week. Goodluck to us!

I heard about PDA by Lacharity but didn't get the chance to read the book. Maybe if you have time you can go to your local Barnes & Nobles and check it out. Goodluck with your test!

Thanks joyfullpn! I really appreciate the compliments! Yes, sad but true. They said it's all about budget and that bvnpt is short staffed. It's hard to make plans when you're in a limbo. All I can do is wait and wait..

I took NCLEX-PN on 10/11/13
I'm taking human physio and sociology. The RN program that I'm trying to apply to required me to retake physiology. They said that the LVN physio does not count because it has to be 5 units including lab. That's fine with me. You learn more and will actually help me have a better A&P knowledge. How about you?

I took NCLEX-PN on 10/11/13
From what I have researched so far it takes about average 3-4wks for the results to be received in the mail. But receiving your actual license is another story. How about you, how fast did you receive your license? What state are you from?

I took NCLEX-PN on 10/11/13
Hello everyone! I took the NCLEX-PN on Oct 11, 2013 here in Northern Cali. The test stopped after question 106 and it took me about 2hrs and 15mins. I went to check the PVT 3 hrs after the exam and it gave me the "good pop-up" !! Although I was so excited to see the good pop up, I still feel very anxious because Cali does not participate in the Quick results. I studied for about 3 months and used Saunders 4th edition, Exam Cram-PN and Kaplan 2012-2013. I first read the Kaplan book cover to cover. It helped me with test taking strategies (ABCs, data collection vs implementation, Maslows, etc) The Exam Cram book helped me a lot in terms of nursing content. Saunders helped me reinforce everything I have learned. I took the 75 item assessment test the first time and scored abt 52%. It will show you which area you need improvement. It has about 3,000 + questions and you can select different system topics (respiratory, cardiovascular, OB, etc). What I like about is that it gives you the rationale and the test strategy on how to select the correct answer. I scored about 80% the week of my exam. Also, if possible, download the NCLEX Web tutorial from Pearson vue website. So you can familiarize yourself on how the actual screen and test format looks like. This might help relieve some of the anxiety and also saves time when you get in there as you already went through it. I'm not sure if I passed or not but will definitely let you guys know the outcome. I have 2 questions though: 1) I know that waiting time is long in Cali but for those of you who recently took the exam and have actually received their license, can you please give a timeframe on how long it takes from the time you took the exam and when you actually got your license card? 2) Once I get my "pass" letter (God-willing), I plan to drive to Sacramento and pay them in person with cash so they won't have to process the check or money order. Does this expedite the process? Anyone have done this method recently? Thank you so much for listening and I look forward to your responses! Please let me know if you have any questions. Goodluck to all taking the test!
