  1. hello everyone! i am taking my NCLEX two weeks from now in Makati City and since im from the province i dont have the slightest idea what hotel to take. can you recommend hotels near the testing site and how to get to trident tower (from your recommended place)? Looking forward to your replies. thank you!:spin:
  2. hi. just got my ATT and so did my brother. im curious if pearsonvue allows schedulling two persons in one call? do i have to call back (again) for my brother's or i can do both schedulling in one call? thanks a bunch!
  3. id rather edit this one, this may attract some agruments, again. have a great day everyone!:rotfl:
  4. and please,. take a good time to read. the NCSBN nor CGFNS did not, in any way, say that a TOTAL retake should be DONE. dont be unfair. the court already made its say, and still, some do not seem get it. the NCSBN has their own OTHER reasons on why they cant grant the PI's request, dont put all the weight to this issue, making it all appear that june 2006 anti-retake passers are the ones to blame. why cant others put an end to this one? integrity integrity integrity... who destroyed it? the passers? is that why WE SHOULD DO A RE-TEST? JOIN US THEN. its not just about us, anyways, its all for the WHOLE profession, right?
  5. are the june 2006 passers included in the "blaming phase"?
  6. WOW!! CONGRATULATIONS:jester: !!!! OMG, HOW I WISH I WOULD BE ABLE TO CELEBRATE JUST LIKE U.... NEXT YEAR MAYBE. HEHEHE. I CAN FEEL THE EXCITEMENT!! AND I AM SO GOING TO FOLLOW YOUR TIPS! KUDOS!:yelclap:
  7. just for thought.... the "leakage" issue broke off AFTER the exams, thus, obviously stating that examinees did not enroll in gapuz or in any other review centers just because they have leakages to offer. if there were indeed offerings of leakages, how come no one reported it even before the recent june exams? and its funny that "witnesses" with no show of faces mushroomed SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER. if leakage is a thing of the past, and still is the trend now a days, well i guess its not only the june 2006 passers who will do a retake, but all of those who took nursing since day one. ok, back to the main topic, it would surely be a BIG advantage to filipino nurses if our country will be made as one of those many NLCEX sites in asia, but sad to say, we are not yet that equipped to conduct one. we just have to bear with the enormous amounts of bills if we want to work in the US. sad.. and really heavy, but we have no choice, we cant change our system in just a snap of a finger. we cant blame the NCSBN if they did not consider our country, lets admit it, we have a corrupt system, and the NCSBN is just protecting the integrity of their exams. just think of this, if we can manage to trouble our own exams, what more others' exams??
  8. prove what? it happened already (& obviously, its more like of agreeing than condoning). and no amount of retake could erase such scrupulous act. i dont think a single retake could change the view of the whole world (since filipinos are the ones sending bad signals to other countries) in just a snap of a finger. so, we'll have a couple more of retakes then?? hehe. as the saying goes "dont wash your durrrty linens out in the public". but what are the others doing? seems that they are so proud bringing overseas the pathetic news. and now, they're worrying what other countries will think of us? tsk tsk sk well, as for me.. still retake for those who failed and no retake for those who passed. how many times do you have to take licensure exams and pass to prove that you're competent? those who failed should prove it yet again
  9. correct me if im wrong.. you said if ever you'll get hired.... then, you ended it with you wont get a job or the pay a nurse wish for. what did you mean by hired, when you still wont get a job? so you're saying that even if you are already hired, you would get a different rate from other co-workers just because you were one of those who took the controversial exam? do the rates vary with the batch of filipino graduates that you belong to? and yeah, i wanna know, is there a salary difference among filipinos working in the us who took the local exams with those who did not? lets say, they were hired at the same time. so i assume that if im already working in the us, and i didnt go for a retake, i would get a lower salary than those who took? saying that we got hired at the same time. or, would i still be unemployed... though im already hired? it seems to me that, its not the americans who would actually discrminate you. sad
  10. clear this up please.. for me. why do the US even care about our local exam? why, then, are they implementing thier own state board exam if the local exams of other countries count? and why dont they require the local license during the application for nclex? or.. are they already requiring it since the leakage issue broke off? maybe i am a bit outdated already (just because of the phil's issue, they now require. .?kinda funny) about the stigma.. isnt it obvious that only those "people" shouting for a retake are the ones giving the passers the so-called stigma? do they even know what a stigma is? its so unfair for other people who came from other parts of the phil (esp in luzon) to say that there had been leakages, too, in visayas and mindanao. you know more than we do? if there had been a spread here, specifically in visayas, how come i dint come across with it? another thing, if there really is a stigma, why do our local officials and even church leaders support us for our cause? you see, the stigma isnt in the whole archipelago. its merely limited to the heads of those who couldnt accept the fact that their best students werent able to include their names in the topnotcher's list... or even just in the passers' list. so the petitions/ signature of hundred or less students saying that there was a leakage is more credible than those thousands saying there was none? where is justice? if you people KNOW MORE THAN the NBI/PRC/CA then maybe you should tell that to them. whats the use of yur knowledge? or better if you apply for their posts instead. easy for you to shout for a retake... 4years, i think, is enough for us to prove that we can work in hospitals. its not just the exam that can measure our competency. for heaven's sake, why do you question our competencies?! its just a 500-item exam... we passed even with nulled items. now, it seems that the flunkers are more competent than passers. oh no, that gives me a laugh. if ever the CA announces a NO -RETAKE decision, i doubt if those passers who shouted for a retake (puppets i may say) will still go for one or would just disguise themselves all the way to the prc to claim their licenses. charmed life, if you have evidences that the leak isn't limited to luzon alone, PROVE IT! dont just type it here. im really ticked off. crab mentally will never leave a pinoy's system. just wondering, would your stomach hurt if we get our licenses? thats why you're stopping us from acquiring it?
  11. just to add to bonsai25's reply, some private hospitals accept trainees, even without licnses. but the govt hospitals, w/c im aiming to work at, is still waiting for the TRO to end/ to be lifted earlier than the expiration date. the issue had been and is being sensationalize. so id rather choose only those really believable ones over the exaggerated.
  12. i might as well add up to this thread. ive been doing a LOT of things since the issue of that exam broke off. :monkeydance: 1. ive been doing a lot of favors for my mom. like errands, pay bills, etc etc 2. stay online everyday. check my profiles, do blogs, chat wd fellow ranting passers. 3. goin back and forth to school for my papers for my nclex application. as well as my bro's. im helping him out. 4. do Q&A exercises (nclex) whenever i feel like it. LOL 5. drive around the city. window shop. go out of town.. attend fiestas, thanksgiving parties, etc 6. watch tv all day. turn it off whenever a "certain newscaster" deliver news about the leakage issue; she'll be biased anyway, so whats the point tuning in?? 7. rant about those inconsiderate people who block our way from getting jobs and helping out our parents and family. 8. spending some hours in deliberately wishing that the TRO will be lifted any time now. 9. yeah, i go to church, too. i do pray. that god may enlighten those dark minds that are butting-in in our career. :yeahthat: 10. have coffee, cocktails with friends. chill out. have fun, even just once in 2weeks. loosen up a bit. 11. ask money from my parents. thats for my own survival. they hafta feed me, now that i dont earn my own pay, yet. my list could go on for miles... id rather stop here and not wait for your eyes to pry out. :w00t:
  13. check this latest news: http://www.manilatimes.net/index.php?news=1667
  14. true. i would have opted for a retake if the results werent released. but since it had been... then i gues theyl have to push through with the next step after releasing the results.. and that is the oath taking. for those hu are daring the passers for a retake, saying further that the passers are cowards.. dumb and all, here's for you: SHAME! we passed, you failed.. now tell me hus dumb.
  15. confidence.. sure we have that. but money? and effort? a retake doesnt guarantee that the integrity of the exams will be "cleansed". no matter how many retakes will be conducted, still, it wont the change the fact that there was once a leakage. were not even sure if this is the only instance neither will this be the last. why do we have to prove the 2nd time? would that be the only way out whenever there are issues like this? prove prove and prove? when uve already proven it?? as a passer, i know my rights and im not gonna give in to those selfish acts of corrupt people. as what rosero said, and i quote, "i asked them (the deans) if it (retake) is the sentiments of all their students who passed, but they werent able to answer". what's this? making decisions without even knowing both sides??
  16. i dont think we deserve another grueling moments if ever there will be a retake. it sure is an option.. but not a good one. esp if u knw w/n urself that u passed fair & square. others even claim that they wud want a retake EVEN IF ITS A WASTE OF TYM. what are u thinking, man?! weve all suffered the consequences of corrupt people, dont make the passers suffer more.. alot of damage had been done, passing did a great help.. even paid off all those tortures of waiting, dont pull us down. it will get u nowhere. we know how are system runs. dont be blind.. dont drag the innocents into hurtful things. just be glad that 17k passed though several items were invalidated. it cud have been more embarrrasing if no1 passed, proving that we really relied on those leakages.
  17. and when the tests3&5 were included and the rate of those hu failed is higher than the passers, for xur they wud again rant that the leaked questions shudnt have been included! u know the negative mentality of filipinos.. we just couldnt get satisfied with every means that we think isnt on our side. we wud still haunt the streets wanting and shouting for the solutions that WE think is BEST for US, not thinking of the effect to others. or not realy looking at the bigger perspective of it. as long as we dont get thngs our way, we would do every means to have it. there are those hu understands,, hu can accept. but still, there are those hu just wont get it.. though they know theyv understood it already.
  18. they dont care much whether u pass ur local boards or not.. long as u pass theyr state board. dont know why some kips on pushing that the US will ban the june passers. duh! where have u gotten ur minds?? where did ur ryt mind go? is it still unclear that the US doesnt require u to pass ur local?? reading and knowing facts isnt as hard as calculus or any other nerve- wracking things. no offense to any1, but others are just making black propagandas so to threat the passers that a retake is the only way to clear up this mess (w/c wasnt started by the examinees,, but the examiners). we still have our sanity intact, thank you very much. and no amount of threatening whatsoever cud change that. even if ther'll be zillions of retakes, itstill couldnt clean the tainted reputation of board exams in our country. you have to weigh things... dont be such selfish beings. when the results werent released yet, only few.. very few.. were shouting of retake.. now, almost all who failed are dying for it! where did it get u so far?? making the profession be more buried in mud? that those hu passed are now the "incompetents" and those u falied the "competent"?? where's justice in that?? saying that its better to fail than to pass? duh! what happened to ur ability to think? to rationalize?
  19. uhmm.. what does it have to do with the place u came from? no offense but are your reasons for real??
  20. not all passers passed because they cheated.. why? simply because the leaked questions were invalidated, there's no reason for them (those wd leakages) to have an edge over the others. if they (retake fans) still couldnt get it, i dunno what's wrong wd them.
  21. any1 here seen the news tonyt? that the prc dont see any reason to have a retake. basically true. retake.. what for? so there'll be a bigger chance for another leakage? its silly how people label the passers as "incompetent" and those hu dint make it as "competent". hows that possible?! if ever there will be a retake, there's hell to pay!:angryfire ive burnt midnyt candles to pass and help out my family, not to be caught in the middle of those corrupt people!! theyv been hearing the "failed" sides.. how about our sides?! weve sacrificed enuf, spent enuf, cried enuf, waited enuf.. i cant take another sets of these tortures. we, passers, i believe, have much more ryts than those pathetic losers hu just cant simple go to the prc to file for the decmber boards. theyv been narrowminded way too far already. thinking only about themselves. WHY DID WE MAKE IT? WHY DINT THEY MAKE IT?? there are only 2 types of groups at the end of every battle.. the unfortunates, and the fortunates. we belong to the latter, but why are they dragging us to be on their group? GOD BLESS THEM!
  22. why arent the prc, ched and nbi at the meeting shown at the news just this evening? hu really are the complainants by the way?? there's this new girl, erfe. i dunno what they'r up to (well yeah, i know theyv been dying to have a retake). how dare them say that a nurse' competence could only be measured by that 500-item exam?! that they even concluded that they cant afford to produce incompetent nurses! hey! hus shortcoming was it anyway? why throw all the blame to the examinees? to the PASSERS?! :angryfire
  23. yes. i agree. thats the very thing i am pointing ut to those bitter failers.
  24. i dont think so.. i have a friend hu passed the local board lastyr and wasnt able to attend such ceremony. no sanctions or whatever was given to her. she just had a separate, "special" oathtaking in the PRC office after the scheduled ceremonies. But u NEED to take oath.
  25. if u want, u can go to the prc and request for ur rating. there are the "rush", w/c u have to pay a bit higher than the regular, w/c u can get after 2days. the "rush" is released the same day u requested. as to where do we start now that we passed, i say.. do a volunteer work first (i will.. hehe) coz i heard the nclex exam slots are full till nov and processing for the application takes tym. and review centers do not accept reviewees if they dont have these certain slip that proves that ur nclex applications were accepted (im not saying ALL centers, and this goes to those hu are planning to enroll into one)
