  1. Dr. Shelly, thank you so much ! I received my BSN from UMSL and had a fantastic experience with excellent teachers and education. I think for my graduate level courses I would definitely benefit from the face to face format. I have heard nothing but wonderful experiences from few people who have already graduated or are currently in the NP program. I think I have made my decision and know that I would get an excellent education at UMSL.
  2. I got accepted into umsl and slu for fnp program starting fall '13. I am so confused as to which one to go with. I like umsl cost is much lower and kind of like face to face interaction but having to drive once a week for next 3 years with family schedule is so something I have to figure out. Slu the cost is big factor, but I have been told is more reputable than umsl, though both are very good. I am nervous on an entire online np program. Anyone out there who have or are currently going to either of these colleges give me their input, please!!! Any info appreciated!!! Thank you!!!
  3. I got into the fnp program, so excited:)) You are right bluemonday, we should all be in the same track for first couple of years. Anyone else got in? Please post !
  4. Curious to know if anyone has been accepted into UMSL FNP program for fall 2013!!!
  5. Thank you so much for your replies. It seems like in most states you do get the license pretty fast. Here in missouri, like i said 6 weeks seems awfully long time.
  6. Rocky, thanks for your reply, but i am confused are you talking about the unofficial results throu pearsonvue website? I wanted to know about the actual license with picture etc, which here in missouri i heard takes about 6 weeks. Has anyone got in say 2-3 weeks?
  7. How long does take for actual license to come after getting unofficial results? I understand it may vary from state to state, I am in missouri, and if there is any way to get it sooner?
  8. :balloons: :nuke: :monkeydance: :biggringi whoooooo hooooooooooooooo!!!!!! congratulations rn, knew without doubt you will pass, now you can relax.
  9. Suzanne, I got my associates in nursing from here in US and passed nclex last week. I have started with the visa screen process and now in the process of finding lawyer. I have been hearing that the 50000 cap is almost getting exhausted. This is really concerning me because i think it takes 3-4 weeks to get official results and license and so by the time i start process will probably take good 1 month. So i had the foll questions: 1. What are my options if the quota expires.. 2. One lawyer said that i have to have the visa screen before i can start the paperwork , is that true? Bec then it would take even longer time. 3. How long does it take to get visa screen. They seem to be really slow. Started process 1 month ago and yet nothing seems to be really moving ahead. I am really scared since i am on h-4 visa and cannot even work now. My worst nightmare is after going throu everything and getting this far as getting my license, i will end up just sitting & waiting for all the paperwork to get throu, and meanwhile forget whatever i have learnt in school. Thank you
  10. I got lot of easy questions in between, even though i still wasn't sure of the answers. Whenever i got those kind of questions, it was harder for me to concentrate, thinking this is not good, i am going down hill. There may be just 5 % of peop who felt they did good, but rest of us all have felt there is no way we could have passed. So i totally understand what you are going throu. Thats just the way nclex questions are. But again to emphasize majority of people pass inspite of feeling that way, and you will too. :wink2:
  11. oops 3rd para text = test
  12. I was outside since early morning today and didn't get chance to access my computer, but i knew you were testing today and prayed for you. What you are feeling, was exactly what i felt last week. For 48 hours post nclex i started realizing what all i got wrong and honestly felt like i must have got like 2 questions right . I was having nightmares about these questions, feeling nauseous, just horrible!!!!. For 2 days i kept going to pearson website and refreshing everytime hoping the results were there. After 48 hours finally i saw results were there and i was so anxious, never been this anxious in my life. I had to call my husband at work and he said he would come home since i didnt have the courage to look by myself. You know that I did not do that well with kaplan scores and you have studied way more than I did. If i could pass inspite of that, I know you will too. There is no way to describe the feeling after giving the text. It just seems hopeless, but thats how majority of people feel, yet majority of people pass inspite of that. So just hang in there and you will do fine. Will continue to pray for you and really try to stay busy for next 48 hours, dont go opening books, trying to figure out wht you missed. Good Luck!
  13. Except for QT 2 i have never got more than 61 in the other QTs, Qbank ranged from 50s to 70s .... passed nclex last week with 75 questions. You are doing great if you are getting in the 60s. Good Luck!!
  14. congratulations , new rn:balloons:
  15. just wanted to let you know, i will be thinking of you and praying for you.. good luck!!!!!
  16. You will do just great, with all the hard work you have put into it. Will be definitely thinking of you and praying for you. Good Luck!!!!:wink2:
  17. :balloons: :balloons: :balloons::biggringicongratulations !!!!! :smiley_ab :smiley_aa :yelclap: :mortarboard: i knew you will do it, very happy for you!!!!
  18. Higglytown, thank you for your wishes. I thought of doing ncsbn bec it is from the peop who make nclex. The review portion as such of ncsbn is to be frank really boring to read, you are much better off reading saunders , however they have whole buch of questions which are pretty good. As far as kaplan strategies are concerned it is fine to read and understand, however at least in my nclex i hardly used any of the strategies. But the kaplan questions are great, they are hard, but thats why when you do a lot of kaplan questons you will find nclex questions similar. Read Saunders throughly, so you will feel comfortable with the content. Do also questions from saundres cd. Ncsbn for 49$ - 3 weeks is very good for questions. If you can afford to get kaplan questions then even better. Both ncsbn and kaplan are good, but if i had only option to chose 1 then i might chose kaplan. Bottom line is try to solve as many questions as possible, review content you are missing and make little note cards and keep reviewing them. Solving lots of questions will make you feel more confident. hope this helps. Let me know if you need to know anything else
  19. LPRN2006, Thank you so much for your warm wishes while i was giving my test:icon_hug: . I was thinking of you this morning and prayed for you. I am sure you did fine. After the test its hard to feel like yeah i passed, but as you know majority of peop who take the test pass. For next 48 hours try to stay busy, go shopping or something, dont think about this... Will be waiting to hear the great news from you!!!!:)
  20. Thank you 2ndy, kathy, hica!!! Congrats Hica :balloons: new RN, i am glad for you!!!! 2ndy since i havent really used meds dont know much about it. But if you do get time try to look over saunders bit more maybe 1 hour every day. I hadnt done Saunders as much as i wanted to but like you said, i used it a lot while in nursing school. But if you feel comfortable with content by using meds, then just keep solving lots of questions. Good Luck to you, remember you can do it!!
  21. :nuke: RNs2BRwe it was super sweet of you to think and wish for me while i was giving my exam. May God be with you while you are giving your exam next week. I know i started freaking out seeing that i had used up almost 3 hours. It was some experience i tell you!! I was just reading that you got 70 in QT 6 , way to go ! thats just too good, maybe handful of peop might have gotten that much. Except for QT 2 i had never got more than 61 in any of the harder QTs. You are definitely ready. I know you want to be done with it , just few more days, hang in there. You are doing just great. It will be over before you know it. Will be thinking of you and praying for you!
  22. :blushkiss i AM SOOOO TOUCHED, this is very very sweet you guys!!! It is absolutely most definitively becuase of your good wishes and prayers i PASSED!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... BIG :icon_hug: to all of you...
  23. Just been waiting to say the magic word "PASS". Yes I PASSEDDDDD... with 75 questions. Came to know today , still feel numb just cannot believe I am an RN now.:balloons: :monkeydance: :biggringi :smiley_aa :smiley_ab Thank God and thank you all for your help, support and prayers. I joined this website maybe .like 6 weeks ago and it has helped me tremendously. This is an AWESOME site. I gave my test on the 11th and the whole experience of actually going to give the test was plain scary. I tried my best to stay calm, breathe and do everything else possible to try and not freak out. I sat for 5 min in front of the computer before starting. After I saw the first question I just felt blank, but slowly I warmed up. Took each question at a time, after 2 ½ hours I saw I had done only 63 questions. I was hoping to get only 75 questions. Thought I should speed up a bit. Then after 20 min got the blue screen. Though I felt I did horrible, it was a relief not to get any more of those questions. I got maybe 10-15 priority quests, 1 delegation, 5 meds (which I think I got wrong), 1 math. I had done Saunders, Ncsbn review, Kaplan review and the last week did mostly Kaplan Qbank. Don't know if any of that helped but I would def recommend who is starting to prepare for nclex to really study Saunders, do the questions and then to do Kaplan. Nclex questions are def like Kaplan. With kap questions your mind starts thinking the way nclex wants you to think. Inspite of doing 1000s of questions, it's almost like the exam could read my mind and asked me quests on topics I have always had trouble understanding. One thing I know for sure helped was prayers, never can go wrong with that. All I can say is I have been an avg nursing student and if I could pass you can too. If I can help anyone in any way, I will be more than happy to. You can post message or pm me. Study a lot, do lots of questions and don't forget to pray. Thank you all once again !!!!!!!!
