They get better care than the homeless guy on the street

Why inmates do not deserve free healthcare
I really agree with you. I feel like they shouldn't be denied healthcare but I have seen so much abuse of it. It is a really complicated issue.

Maryland correctional nursing
Md Doc contracts in nurses you will not be working for DOC. Hagerstown nursing contract is Correctional Medical Services.

Why inmates do not deserve free healthcare
The prison I worked at had jobs available with in the prison. They should be treated like us if we do not have any money we go into debt or get medical assistance. Also people on the outside do not get treated for problems such as dental work, headaches, colds because of not having enough money.

Why inmates do not deserve free healthcare
Thank you all for your replies. I am not saying to deny them treatment, I am saying they should have to help pay even if it was only a couple dollars.

Maryland correctional nursing
If you would like to work at the mddoc in Hagerstown call 3017332800 and ask for Melinda. I am not sure how the other prisons work but in Hagerstown you can not just go in and fill an application out you call get an interview then fill everything out at the interview.

Why inmates do not deserve free healthcare
Hello. I am writing a paper on why inmates should not recieve free medical and dental care, and looking for some ideas. I have already wrote some ways they abuse the system, and how it is unfair we pay for it. Thanks for your help.

I want to be an Army nurse!
I am having a problem getting in. I have some medical problems but my recruiter is going to resumit my medical records after I have a test done. The medical issues I have are things that I don't take medication for or have any treatments. My doctor is going to write a letter to say that I have no health precautions or treatments or restrictions on my activity, so maybe that will help. I don't understand why they wouldn't let me in with the conditions I have.

Family and friends against joining the military
I hear ya:). My boyfriend calls me a freaking idiot for wanting to join. Most of my family is oppossed as well. They give me so many reasons why they think it is a bad idea. My advise to you is research and talk to lots of people who are actually in or were in and follow your heart. Don't give up your dreams. I tell my family that this is something I really have passion for and I believe in fate, when they talk about how I could die. That seems to help them understand a little bit. I hope this helps. Goodluck

Anyone 91wm6??
Awesome. I would like to know anything. Like what kind of shifts do you work? Where do you spend your day at a hospital, clinic, etc? What are your job duties? Is there time to go for RN while active duty? Do you wear scrubs or a military uniform? Have you done field nursing? Thanks:)

I want to be an Army nurse!
I am a LPN my mos will be 91wm6. I graduated in feb and have not been satisfied with the nursing experience I am getting, I have had two jobs so far and in both my main purpose is/was passing medications. I really want to use the knowledge I have from school. I also want to join because when I see pictures or watch the news I want to help. So that is why I want to join. Here are my fears, or things people tell me. 1.Will I really get the experience I am looking for? 2.Am I too old? I am 23 3.Will I be worked to death and have no time for friends or relationships? 4.Will I been able to work on getting my RN while enlisted? 5.If a first duty station and mos are in my contract could the Army break the contract? 6.Would the Army be able to not give me the gi bill college money after I get out? The Army is something I really want to do but almost everyone I tell says it is a bad decision. Please answer what you can. I really want to hear views of people who are in.

Deployments in military nursing
Thanks for the reply. Should I be seeing an Army Nurse Corps recruiter? Do you know how likely it is that I could get my RN while enlisted? One of my fears of joining is that I will get stuck just taking VS, doctors office type work. What are the 91wm6 allowed to do? What differences are there between civ. and military nursing?

Deployments in military nursing
I am a LPN. The MOS I have been offered is 91wm6. So are you saying I will most likely not work in a hospital. Do know of any other military nursing options for me as a LPN?

Military/VA RN's - Please post experiences for Students
I am not enlisted yet. I am a LPN. I have been told I will be a 91wm6 which is a practical nurse in the Army. I tried all of the other branchs Army is the only one with this option. I also think they might take associates RNs.

Roll Call for all Military and VA Nurses and those considering the Service
I am thinking about enlisting, the MOS I have been told I would get will be the same as you. I am a LPN. I was wondering what the job will be like in the military, what differences will there be from civilian nursing. What type of places have you worked at in the military?
