  1. I have a question? I had to withdraw out of my program because my grades were too low. On the second level, the instructor says that she test us on material in the textbook that as a nurse we should know. so basically as a nurse what would we do? I am not a good studier and I have read your post (thank you) but my learning style is repetition. and it seem as if when I get to test time, I mix all the disease processes up, any suggestions?
  2. Wow!! I thought my class was the only one having problems. Most of my class is either failing or had dropped and that is truly sad because we have some bright people in my class. I must say that I am one of the ones that dropped and hopefully I will back at it in January. I really wanted to graduate in May but now graduating in December does not sound so bad. for all of those in my shoes, don't give up, you can do it. Best wishes and good luck.
  3. Congrats and welcome, you can do it:yeah:
  4. ABSOLUTELY!!! I am a single mother of two going into my third semester of nursing school at a community college. I sat and talked to my high priced ass kids (ages 7 and 9) and told them, the only name brand they will wear for the next 2 years is Wal-Mart. I do not have any support from the father's except 368 that my daughter gets from disability from her dad. Needless to say I have worked two part time jobs while in school and managed to keep my apartment and car, BY THE GRACE OF GOD!! I have maxed out my loans for the next two semesters so I can concentrate on my studies and get done. My kids have suffered me being absent but they understand what I am trying to do is for them. I have traded my old car in for a 2005 Chevy Equinox, but the note is still the same as the car. I too prayed for God to send me a helpmate while I was in school but He is the best provider in the world, you have to take Him at His word and trust He will do just what He said He would do and what you asked for. Everything I asked for He provided, you just got to learn to lean, trust and depend on Him and Him alone, He will see you through!! Good luck and God Bless.
  5. At my school of nursing, the instructors use the same exams year after year, so for repeaters, it is easy for them to pass the test, which they do not share information from the past semesters. My program is also competitive, so you have to be in good with someone in order to get some help on tests or anything dealing with the nursing program. If someone gives you study material, to me, it is not cheating. If they are giving you test questions and answers then yes, that is cheating. I feel people should not cheat because it will catch up with them eventually, hopefully it will not be one of our love ones in harms way.
  6. Thank you so much for that very detailed description. I am going into my second year at a Community College and I am hoping with your help that I will be able to write authentic care plans using my own assessment findings:yeah:and not some book that a seasoned professional has written. We as students sometimes take the short cut if only we would take our time and actually get the understanding. We are so overwhelmed with work and listening to other nurses saying they don't have to do care plans, we just take a short cut instead of really understanding. It would also proably help with us during our testing. Thanks again
  7. I believe faith and medicine goes hand in hand and if you keep God first in your life, EVERYTHING will fall in place. He will make a place for you when others say no. I am a witness. When I went to register for my classes, the nursing registeror told me I barely made it in and I told her God had my back, He knows what I want and need and He supplies it.
  8. apply and pray, what God has for you, it's for you!! I applied to my cc's nursing program. there were 300 seats and 1000 applicants, I got a seat!!! with the bare minimum. Pray and apply. Good luck and God Bless
