The priority questions are considered more advanced like with Kaplan. The analysis and application. I see it as a good sign!! So, no math?

Yeah, I was also a bit over an hour. It is important to remember that the number of questions is not a clue to pass or fail. The computer will shut off once it has determined you are either above or below the minimum competency. The waiting is certainly the hardest part. I had wished for more questions to somehow prove my knowledge, funny-huh? Any word from Savannah?

PS: browse around this website. It is filled with lots of personal stories of hope and success. I left the site feeling deflated, and then the person at the center made a comment about how fast I was done, I was so mad at the time. Anyway- happy ending and one for you, too!

The test marks the end of all the schooling and studying. It also is the beginning to a great career. I am pulling for you, too. Expect that there will be questions that you do not recognize at first. Take your time, read the question, use the strategy if you can, and make your best judgment. You can do this!!!!!! Chris

Feelings of failure come with the territory. I understand where you are coming from. This is a difficult time to sit and worry. The test, however, is done; there is nothing more to do on it. I am pulling for you!!!!

Ok Team APU; the next wave of grads are taking the NCLEX! I took mine in Anaheim and the center was great. Do not let the test take you over, you can do this, if you took Kaplan, then you have prepared yourself for success. Keep us all posted and call or email me if you need to debrief after the test. Carry my license?
Thank you. I also heard from my school that you do carry around the ID card. I hope someone asks for it, because I would LOVE to show it off. :monkeydance:

Lisa, I heard about your new home and job. Congrats. you have picked a great start to what promises to be long and prosperous career. The beach area will be fun! I will always remember our bonding time together in Dr. Cherney's class where we all sat there day after day, with puzzled looks on our face. Looking back he was such a cool guy, but at the time....... I also enjoyed the tutoring we did. What a delight to watch you grow. Chris

Carry my license?
Hello, One quick question. When I receive my hard-card license in CA, do I carry it around in my wallet? Or is this one of those lock with the birth certificate items? Thanks to those who have walked this path.

You all are awesome and now you can pass the boards too. I really felt awful (tears, stress), until I read my name. Kaplan does help, but be mentally prepared to see stuff that you just don't know. Stacy-- you have a lot going on right now and I know that once you finish the wedding stuff, you will pass, too. Study hard. Lisa- it was great to hear from you, the waiting is difficult , I know, but try to find something to preoccupy your mind (shopping, drinking, long walks on the beach). Spread the word on the forum, 'cause I know that others are having a challenging time processing this whole event. Leaving the testing center and going back to the car is like leaving a war zone. We will continue to get through this. Chris

from another nursing graduate (I will try to answer this later, but you guys can add anything): Hi Chrisapu, I read your post about KAPLAN. I also took KAPLAN and am currently doing the qbank questions.I've taken the 3 out of the 7 question trainers and have gotten 53%,52%, 49% respectively. I, however reviewed each and every questions and retook them and got 100 % on all three. I then switched and have been practicing on the qbank questionaires and have been getting at least 60%-75%. Now, I would like to know how you utilized your study time and passed the board??? Please help. By the way, I've been reading the course book and am almost done. I'm planning on taking the boards in July 5th. Any more tips you can give me??? Also, how did you find out your result??? was it via the BRN website??? How long did you wait to find out the result??? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. WG

test 6 overall 71% application 73% analysis 66% Test 7 overall 64% application 62% analysis 66% Word from the instructor was to focus at least >50% on the application/analysis. Sounds like from what you are telling me you on meeting and exceeding the recommendation from Kaplan. Thanks for the congrats Please keep me posted on your progress. There may come a time when you have done all you can do.

TIPS/Info for passing NCLEX
At the risk of sounding like an echo, I took Kaplan as well. Tests 5, 6, 7 are a great guide to your level of testing. Be prepared to see material on the NCLEX you have never seen and stay calm. Kaplan's strategy is a good one. I left the test feeling lost and was the first one done with 75 questions. I was stressed and heard today via the internet in CA that I passed.

Wow Jenny, the two week count down!! I am excited for you. With respect to the meds, this is my weakest area, --always has been. Kaplan tests tend to have their favorite meds to test on, beta blockers, hep, mao, but I was really surprised to not see anything I recognized on the NCLEX, scary huh? Build your core knowledge base, attempt to memorize the oddball named drugs in the classes and hope that there is commonality in side effects.

What I learned from Kaplan is that the overall scores are not as important as the % on test 5,6, and 7 under the application and analysis categories. The first few online practice tests (1-4) will help you begin to build on all the book information. Keep on working hard, and make sure you have a study plan. Chris

I think if anything, Kaplan provides a structure to help us measure our readiness to test. The analysis and application questions will create the biggest challenges for us. Advice for the NCELX is: take each question individually, and clear your mind of what you answered on the last question, etc. Expect that there will be meds or some topic that is brand new to you. Do not let it throw you off. You can worry about it AFTER the test. Remain calm. You all are so kind to keep me encouraged. I am practicing alot of positive self talk. I am here for you all as you get closer to the test and after. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for YOU! Chris
