  1. Dont sympathize with the thief. Protect yourself in the future. Grow a thick skin so you can survive workplace politics. It only just begun.
  2. @ Linell posted Jan 15 Hi, I'm in NYC area. Would you mind giving me the info about your program in NJ? Thanks a bunch!
  3. sara42975 thx for your reply. Yes I am considering LPN-RN bridge program. I just want to say the program I'm referring to was an excellent program which comprised 54 credits (68 for AAS). This program entailed writing a 3-5 page paper on a disorder for each nursing course (8!). One professor who thought there said it was like the NYU program, where she thought. We wrote several care plans every week @ clinical while using the nursing process APIE. So those skills that you mentioned, Sara, are exactly my point. LPN w/ degrees in management or the like, have delegation skills and can teach. So what I am saying is the Boards are not giving enough credit to students who already have those skills and who have taken the AAS courses (psychology, sociology, management, math, etc....) to transition into Nursing, as second career nurses. Thank you all for your feedback.
  4. @hotnurse408. I am talking about college degreed LPNs who have taken the required courses at other colleges, prior to become LPNs.

  6. The questions on the Kaplan NCLEX RN Review and the NCLEX LPN Review 2008 edition are the same. I have compared them. So....???? They seem to have changed the 2010 edition to insert lpn in the questions since. What is the difference in the scope of practice? LPN can't hang blood and start IV?? Please enlightened me. and I am trying to educate myself.
  7. Ok. Let me rephrase my thread. The question is shouldn't a candidate who completed the LPN program AND who have completed all of the courses required for the RN program be allowed to sit for the NCLEX -RN. I am well aware of the requirements, the issue I am bringing up is the Boards or whoever set this system up is having college graduates who have alreaday completed these courses to go through entire programs and repeat the same courses they have already taken to get to sit for the RN. That's just an opinion. And I think at some point those who this applies to, should write to the schools and the boards to get these credits/courses transferred and accepted w/o having to duplicate these courses again.
  8. how do i test for the nclex rn instead of lpn, if i have all the course requirements for rn but (aas, bba, some mba credits). but completed lpn program?
  9. Actually, I'm starting to think this is a joke, really. :) Are you kidding? Why doesn't the nurse manager know about her? or does she? and why has nothing been done to get her retrained, helped(anxiety) or point blank get rid of her? this has to be a joke. Patients' lives are at stake. Possibility for lawsuits. really? A year and a half??? Laughable!
  10. Sounds like you all are "enablers". She's getting paid for you helpers doing her job. Did she really graduate from nursing school? She's protecting her license, while you're putting yours in Jeopardy. If she suffers from anxiety disorder, she needs to get help. If nursing is not for her, she needs to change profession. Period. End of story.
  11. Perhaps the shortage is in specific geographic locations. You might want to do some research. Are you willing to move to those locations? Also you might ant to consult with a professional resume writer. I would live out "new grad" if I were you. You do have nursing experience so EMPHASIZE THAT instead, and take what you can. The economy is bad for all industries. So take whatever you can so you can keep your skills sharp while the economy rebounds.
