  1. Okay, from what everyone here is saying, do you think it would be a good idea for international nurses to try to get employment in the UK?
  2. Well I am not sure how difficult it is to get registered in Canada since I was orginally was registered there out of nursing school (althought I was in Alberta), I have a feeling that you will need to get it. Unfortunetly.. What made you choose B.C.? I do know that they highest paid nurses work in ALberta... There is alot more government and taxes in B.C. to be aware of and if your looking at Vancouver it is really crowded, but I have heard fun, and Victoria is beautiful but very expensive, for your information. I hope you love Canada and find it as beautiful as I do.
  3. I am going to throw this question out.. It seems that there is a shortage of nursing in the UK, but there is no money to pay for more nurses right? With this, nurses are more apt to look to work oversea's but there is a fear of getting fired? I have worked in Canada, and in Washingtion and California. I haven't seen any nurses get fired but from what I have seen the health care systems are different. Canada and I am sure the UK see healthcare as a service, where US it is a buisness, so there is the ease of moving from hospital to hospital when the offer is better. What I am wanting to know is, are many nurses getting burnt out in the UK? and is any influence or help from the Government to ease this to help preserve the healthcare? Would it be even worth trying to get registered and try to get employment over there? Just some food for thought...
  4. Is the job market in Ireland similar to that in the UK? And is the process to get licenced similar?
  5. Is that true???
  6. I thank all of you for all the information. It has all been very helpful and useful. I will still try since I am not planning on this for about a year or so.. and maybe things will turn around.
  7. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing it is a4 year university program in Canada. I am hoping that my education will be recongized.
  8. Is it hard if you have a few years experience in a speciality area. Right now I am workign in the ER and obtaining many certifications??
  9. Thank you for all the information... that is terrible to hear when here in Canada and US there is a huge shortage of nurses. Is it just a UK phenomenon?
