I now know that maggorts are used in Nursing , but I DID NOT KNOW this until I saw a artical in my Nursing Magazine about it and there was a open wound full of maggorts I nearlly threw up. So to see it for real I KNOW I would be Sick

I have a reply about this subject, and also the looks I have been given by guys when in my uniform. When I was working I used to finish early in the afternoon, when I finished work. I used to go into town. ESP in the summer when it was hot I was wearing no coat. And the looks I got from guys cause I was in a Nurses uniform. They look at you and you KNOW what they were thinking. It was THAT look that they gave you. I USED to hate that. They don't think of you as a Nurse but a SEX TOY. For them. I hate it when I am looked on like that. They dont THINK that YOU have a JOB to do. They just use it as a nice SEXUAL FANTASY. AND I SO HATE THAT. I think that it goes back to the Strippers, they use the Uniform as a SEXY WORK SUIT. But I am sorry it is SO not like that, They have NO IDEA of our job and what it involves. They only see the GOOD bits. We take the BAD with the GOOD. Cause of the SEXY STRIP image. That is why Female Nurses Get leered AT. I feel that we should put the strippers in our place for a WHILE and SEE how they really like the Job. I think not. Besides the money they get is way more then Nursing, HA WOULD THEY STAY. HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Vicki, Hi I read your post about Activities in the Nursing home setting. I used to work in a Day Centre for the Elderly. We played Bingo, but it was just the normal Bingo. Then the day Centre got a Bingo game called Musical Bingo. The old people loved it they couldn't play it enough, in fact there used to be arguments over who was going to play as it was so popular. It is just like the other Bingo but it has a CD we had a cassette and it had songs on it. You just get the cards like normal give them out then play the tape/CD and they play but are listening to the songs as well. They just cover the song on the bingo board as they hear it being played. They are all songs that the older person would know. Believe me it is VERY popular. I know that it will stimulate your residents. Even the Carers liked playing this game. The old people at the day centre where I worked payed it EVERYDAY. AT LEAST 3 games a day. Then when we put it away they were all disappointed as they STILL wanted to play Musical Bingo. It is well WORTH THE MONEY. There are thousands of Sites, But I found that the VERY first site had a bit for Musical activities.

I work as a Care Assistant CNA as we a known in America. The only things that freak me out are Needles and Blood. I could never give a injection. Also I know this maybe off the subject. But Tim GNP has mentioned it. Woman having Babies makes my skin crawl. I have never seen a woman giving birth in a hospital but just watching it on TV. It makes me go weak. I turn the channel over. This lady is staying baby free.:)

:) Thankyou Puzzler for saying what you said about Care Assistants. I am from England and have been doing this job now for 9 years, and will continue to do so. I love my job as do other Nurses that work in Elderly care. What Nursing do you do? I found your words comforting. It is people like yourself that say these things that makes our job worth while if ever we get bad days.
