  1. I got my book last week. Going back to school after 6 years has me freaking out. I have read ch.1-4. Know 1, did the self test, Working on the Chem chapter (hated it and that was 10 years ago at least), Started memorizing the skeletal system. However I work 2 jobs about 60 hours a week and am taking the class all day Saturday....So I figured a head start cant hurt :trout: My book was $185 more than tuition, I had forgotten...but still a bargain. Thank goodness for community college!
  2. Thanks. I am getting my book Saturday and am going to start reading and memorizing. Thankfully my mom is a nurse so I am hoping she can help...(that will probably end up in us driving each other crazy)!!!! Congrats on the A. Thats Awesome!
  3. I did it. I signed up for AP1 for fall. However the only time I could get into with my work schedule is a saturday class...from 9-4. I am freaking out already....How do I handle all that info one day a week...anyone ever taken this class this way? [EVIL][/EVIL]

AMEN and Getting in!!! PREVIOUS JOBS/CAREER: Accounting degree - all corporate America Fortune 100
  5. hey I lived in Dallas for 7 years. Not a nurse as an accountant. I am now trying to get into nursing school. Here is my take on it.Dallas - Bad traffic, rude people, very snobby, everything is very dressed up if you go out.Ft Worth - Traffic isnt as bad, more western (and I dont mean backwoods/redneck) more laid back and always seemed friendlier to me. People not from there combine them together but they are very different towns with very different feels. I would NEVER live in Dallas again. However I do still like Ft. Worth. That is just me. :) Good Luck!!! And Eat some Tex Mex for me.
  6. to wdwpixie Will you be my mentor!!! Seriously I sound just like you, except for the IT I am an accounant and every reason you mentioned hit home. I start anatomy I in the fall then anatomy II in the spring. I will be applying to the LPN program next year. AND I AM ALREADY SCARED 1. that I wont get in 2. how to pay for it 3. what if i hurt someone 4. I could go on but I am freaking myself out.
  7. Thanks everyone for your responses. I am going to get the couple of pre-req (anatomoy I&II) done and apply next fall. I have a while to figure it out but those other pre-req b/t the 2 are just different enough THANKS AGAIN! Now that I know of this forum I will be back for my great advice.
  8. HELP....any input/advice/comments would be greatly appreciated! I am 30 with an accounting degree. On my 3rd Fortune 100 company totally burned out. I have thought of going back to school for Radiograph, sonography or nursing. Last night I registered at the community college for a class I need as a prereq. How do you decide? The nursing I have talked to my family - 2 RNS, 1 LPN and 2 CNAs. I am not grossed out be blood, guts, breaks...However needles freak me out! I hate to be stuck and really wonder if I could someone. I know there is much much more to the nursing job but this is my biggest worry. I can IM and IV the horse and I can IM the dog....Any words of wisdom...? If you had it to do over again? Most important to me is helping others, human interaction, not being in a cube all day, flexability and stability as far as employment. THANKS!!!
