  1. I guess you would feel better once you pass it.
  2. something is failing in the system somewhere....I've probably sent 1/2 doze emails (about one every week)....so far they only got back to me once regarding joining their student nurse association and that was just to let me know that they would forward my email on.
  3. Alex, I currently work at the electric company...The only resource I really have is either the internet or my study group. distance learning sure can be difficult sometimes...
  4. I think I was asking about posting information on my study group on here...I don't think I am cos it would be considered"promotion" even though there is no money involved.
  5. yeah I have advisors...you are limited to how often/ how long you can talk to them....also since it is distance learning there is not much they can do to help you but state "better practice vitals more"... I was really hoping to utilize the team concept by getting a study group together in Ohio...so far no luck....I've publicized the heck out of this thing but people just are not showing up. Dave
  6. as long as you have the extra money to spend on study supplies than you should do fine. As it has been repeated many times on here...Rue and all the rest of them are just publishers of study materials. By "enrolling" with RUE you've really just signed a contract with them to buy a whole bunch of study materials from them. You do realize that you RUE is not a college right? You do realize that RUE will not administer your tests or grant your degree right?
  7. Am I allowed to do that on here?
  8. no one responded so far...Im sitting in a classroom by myself yet again since I can't find anyone else motivated to show up to study group either.
  9. I sent a few emails to the ohio nurses assoc contacts. no one responded so far.
  10. eric, thanks for the link! I sent out a quick email. As I recall, I researched this about a year ago but the cost (I think it was close to $200) is what stopped me from joining last time.
  11. or other students? I am trying to find other nurses and students in my area. I am in Ohio. I have already tried posting on yahoo groups and on the ohio section of this forum. So far I haven't had any luck.
  12. hello, Im in the area you speak of(north east ohio)....Im not certain of the demand as i have not yet graduated. I do know there are several large hospital systems and medical schools up here.
  13. its a shame that people still somehow think there is a choice between what are publishing companies vs. the actual college itself. A publishing company is NOT a college! The way I went about it was to buy study matierials used off of the internet. I paid only a few hundred dollars for the study material. I've met people who have gotten locked into contracts with publishers and they have threatened to sue and garnish wages if they don't get paid. They paid THOUSANDS of dollars and still have nothing to show for it. buyer beware.
  14. Hello all, I'm in North East Ohio. I've been attending a distance learning nursing school for the last year. I've found it really tough trying to do this on my own. The toughest part has been the final class (the practical exam). I've heard people failing due to a disagreement in blood pressures. I was almost prepared to entitle this thread "the distance learning trap". I've met people that have 25-30 years experience who are failing this "last hurdle". Anyone else who's in the same situation as I am feel free to PM me!!! I'd like to get in contact with as many other students as possible weather its from EC, U of Phoenix or wherever. Thanks.
