  1. i don't know your workplace's policy but if you can I know that printed scrubs hide some of my sweating as opposed to soild color. I have issues as well with sweating and the printed helped along with the cool washcloth on the face and neck. Other than that I just think over time it stopped bothering me as much. I feel your pain though and wish you luck in being more comfortable.
  2. Best wishes for your furture! i agree take care of yourself now!
  3. I as well was sharpening my claws when I read your title. i am currently a nursing student who is a CNA. When I worked in a LTC facility I actually had LPNs answer call lights and come out and tell me that a resident needs changing or to be put on the bed pan. After telling me this, while I was with another resident, that nurse went and sat at the desk, put her feet up, and read a magazine.:angryfire This is ridiculous! No RN or LPN is above basic care. I completely agree that CNAs are assistants and the nurse's responsibility. I have had the opposite experience with other nurses at that LTC facility I just wish more were like the latter. Great topic! When i graduate I will remember my CNA days. I just wish more of the nurses out there were aides at one time. Maybe there opinions about basic care would be different. Also it is good to share these opinions with my calssmates that don't have the experience of being an aide. Maybe by hearing some of my stories they will be that latter nurse after graduation.
  4. I have worked in a LTC as a CNA but not a group setting. B/c of this I don't have experience in this area but to me this place seems very unsafe. I agree with some of the other replies. If they told you 3 clients and you have 6 that is misrepresentation. You should be getting some sort of report and told about the protocols of the facility. To me it seems like you feel unsafe and that is the main point here. I would feel the same way. That is a lot of responisbilty for one person and I would feel liable for those 6 clients. If something should happen on your shift that would be horrible. To me it sounds like you might want to think about looking for a new place to work. Even though you are attached to your clients (which I do as well and is a good thing but you need to remember that they are clients and shouldn't be the soul reason to stay at a job) it is an unsafe atmosphere for yourself. Good Luck with your decision!
