Hello everyone! What a wonderful topic! I also have problems with my weight, so two days ago I started very strict diet (cabbage soup diet), because I need to loose 20lbs until September. I start NS in Fall and want to be size 6 by that time. So far it was very hard for me to eat 600 cal per day. I hope I can make it... Good luck to you guys!

WOW! $43 a month?!!!! Where did you find this price? I live in South CT and the cheapest appartment over here would be $800 in a very bad neighborhood.

NCC offers associate degree. I think it plays an important role. I know, that the BSN programm that I'm planning to get into after I finish my RN requires Ass. degree. So, if you plan to continue your education, you better check if diploma works for you.

WOW guys, thank you so much for all replies!:tku: I have to say that I'm not obsessed with A's, but I undarstand that I need them in order to compete with other applicants. Needless to say, that a good grade means strong knowledge.

I think NCC is going to send all the the letters on April 30st:angryfire. They really enjoy to torture those who are waiting since February 1st!!!!!! Sorry, just need to vent!

I just wondering, how do you study and prepare for the exams, and make all A's? I study all the time (but I also have 2 kids), and I still have some B's. So, what's your secret?

HI, I know your feelings! I have two kids and taking A@P2 now. My professor is VERY tough, but she is also very good in lecturing. So, I record her lectures and then I listen to them over and over again. Here is my tips for studying: 1. Never try to memorize something that you don't understand! If your book gives you a bad explenation, try to find the answer online. There are tons of websites out there! 2. Draw! Skin layers, bones,different structures become easier to understand and remember when you draw and label them by yourself. Coloring books are also good. 3. Study groop! Even if it's just two of you - it is a powerfool study tool. Me and my friends test each other, correct mistakes, make up mnemonics. One brain is good, but two or more are much better! 4. Flash cards! They are very good for remembering stuff such as "name - functin". However, they don't work on sequence questions (muscle contraction, action potential etc): these ones you have to understand. 5. Study while spending time with your kids! I take my kids to a park and we draw with crayons. Kids draw cars and princesses, mom draws cell structures... 6. You can make pictures of cadavers and models during the lab (if your instractor allows you). I was reading this forum and noticed that every school has different number of pre-reqs to nursing program. For example, in my college you can not apply without: 1. A@P1, A@P2 2. ENG 101 3. Math (intermediate algebra) 4. CSA (computers) 5. Chemistry Also, psychology, microbiology, and sociology are strongly advised to be taken prir to NP. GPA -no less then 2.8 (however, nursing advisor said that in reallity it must be at least 3.4;)). And TEAS with at least 75%. What about your school?

I'm 3.6 now. I had 3.8 but A@P put it down.
