  1. Yes, any new "brain" can't hurt, plz send me a copy...Thanks
  2. I haven't taken my boards YET, but scheduled for July 21st. I also just started a ICU internship program last week. I took Kaplan and didn't like it. I've had several fellow classmates who also took the Hurst review (live or online) and have given it nothing but the highest marks, they said it's very content oriented as opposed to Kaplan's strategy review. Good Luck, and any ideas or help for a brand new (very nervous) GN?? Thanks
  3. I love these books. I also d/l it from skyscape for my PDA. I also like the pearls of wisdom books too. Graduate in May...YES
  4. I too am a PEN FIEND!!!! I have dozens if not hundreds of pens, (I get 75 $ from VA every semester for supplies), anyway, I used to LOVE the Pilot G2, but they do tend to smear unless writing on plain paper. I've since starting using the Dr. Grip Pro, love em so much, But am going to try these Zebra's I keep hearing about. Thanks
  5. We took our mid program hesi (practice test) to gauge where we are half way through the program. I only got 742, and my friend got 1045! I feel bad, but I know I'll just need to study more Nclex/Hesi type books before May 08.
  6. Not too sure where you live or bought them before, but if you live in an area with a Sportsman's warehouse, I bought mine there for 29.99 each!!!
  7. Speaking from my OWN personal past experiences in the last 2 years of PreReqs, I find studying on my own was best FOR ME...I was in a college algebra group last fall and what started as a nice, calm group ended with a few of "us" upset at others due such things as: too much talking/gossipping, others not "getting it" and having to go back several chapts to help them "get it", and wasting time traveling to other libraries or meeting places to accomodate everyone. Just was a PITA. Now I am a Loner..
  8. Here's the webpage for my Comm. College I'm attending this Fall for a RN degree. The site itself isn't pretty, but it does have great tutorials and reviews specific for our RN program. Here ya go: http://www.accd.edu/sac/nursing/math/default.html
  9. The reason I got mine spiraled and the large ones 3 holed is b/c they are easier to handle/carry. Two of mine are over 1800 pages and obviously we won't need ALL of it at class. So, I take out the chapts I need for that week and put them in a small 1.5 inch binder. And for my smaller books (studyguides, etc) the spiral makes it very easy to open fully and is lighter.
  10. I know this may have been discussed somewhere on these wonderful boards...But, I am really very interested in how everyone has dealt with or is dealing with all the stress from Nursing school? I start in 2 weeks and really get stressed out about homework and especially tests. What has helped you all "get through" them? Thanks very much for your replies.
  11. LAST YEAR-3.93, Rejected due to sciences not finished. THIS YEAR -3.87, ACCEPTED!!!! AUGUST 28th starting....YEAH
  12. Hey all, I start August 28th, (orientation Aug 24th) just did a 3 day Pharmacology Math CE and it was a furious pace. Anyway, I had different books either spiral bound (the smaller, thinner ones) and had my VERY LARGE, THICK lecture books unbound, and 3 hole drilled at OfficeMAX, 4 books in all and it was 15.00 dollars. Love the spiral bound one especially. I had my Visual assessment made incredibly easy book spiraled too, 4 bucks...Good luck everyone
  13. Don't know if you've looked here yet, but there's a forum dedicated to PDA's right here: https://allnurses.com/forums/f234/ and as far as programs, I just love www.skyscape.com You can download trials and see what you like. I have Davis's drug guide, Stedman's med dict for Nurses, Nurses Fast Facts. Also, get a free program from www.Epocrates.com Good luck
  14. Hey what's up? I just turned 40 today, and live in San Antonio...Got accepted for this fall...I can't wait, but very nervous and anxious. Good Luck
  15. I feel ya man, I'm a 40 yr old male w/ a 13 & 7 yr old girls. I just finished my last semester of prereqs this past summer, with Micro, A&P II, and Chems.
