NCLEX prep
Hi! I also recently graduated on December 7th and relaxed (enjoyed the holidays) until January 6th too! I still haven't opened a book yet, I'm reviewing online through Kaplan and NCLEX 3500. Is this for your RN or PN? I'm an LVN and graduated with my BSN. I'll be taking Excell nursing review the end of this month. What state are you from? I never liked the ATI either! My school used that religiously and we had to take an ATI exit exam after each nursing course. When I was studying for my NCLEX-PN, I studied Saunders and NCSBN. This time, I don't have a study plan and don't know how to to study for the NCLEX either, just like you. If anyone who has taken it has any suggestions, please help! Thanks! Good luck to you, AngelofSeduction!

Thank you both very much for your input and replies! I went to the court today to get a certified copy, $28 plus $0.50 per page to copy, which takes 5-10 working business days. Thanks again for your help!

NCLEX-RN applicant in CA w/ minor misdemeanor
Hi, I am an LVN and just graduated with my BSN. I'm in the process of applying for the NCLEX-RN. However, my problem is that I had a misdemeanor 13 years ago in 2001 when I was 19 for something petty and immature. I was of course, young and stupid, and got pulled over on the street by a police for following my boyfriend after I caught him going to lunch with another girl, so I was lightly ramming into his car with mine at a stoplight. Yes, I was that crazy girlfriend, but I am not that person anymore and I have never been in trouble with the law since. Fast forward to 2008 when I finished LVN school when I was applying for my NCLEX-PN back then, I went through this whole process of writing them a letter explaining what happened, included a police report with the misdemeanor, and even got the whole thing expunged at the county court. The board dismissed my misdemeanor and I was able to take and pass the exam and obtain my license. I've worked as an LVN without any violations and my license is in good standing. My question is this: Am I required to disclose the same misdemeanor and go through the whole process again, delaying my ATT? I would like to take my exam as soon as possible without any delays. It's already been expunged, it happened 13 years ago, and the board already knew about this when I became an LVN. Will this show up on my record when I do the live scan fingerprinting? Does anyone know? I'm from California, btw. Thank you in advance for any help or assistance/guidance provided! I appreciate it!

Holy Names University LVN to BSN?! New program
Hi! I'm currently in this program, just started in May for summer. There are two more weeks left until the semester ends, then Fall starts. The program started in Fall 2010, so I am in the 3rd cohort. What would you like to know about the program? PS. I'm also 7 months pregnant with a 2.5 yr. old daughter and not working anymore since I started the program. Only about 2 other people in my class are not working but the rest have jobs and others have families like I do.

nclexpn results in california
Yay! Congratulations deebabygirl! And suzanne4, everything you said does make sense! I wasn't sure that the trick would work because I was skeptical myself! So I wasn't relying on it, I was just waiting for my letter in the mail telling me if I passed or failed. So, if it didn't work for some people, I apologize for giving false hope (or fear) out there! The only reliable method is to just wait the few weeks to get the results in the mail! Good luck to everyone!

Wow congratulations to your wife RNHusbandSD! :hpygrp: deebabygirl, I took mine the day before you took yours so maybe we'll get our results in the mail around the same time! Well, maybe it depends on where you live! I live in San Jose! It's supposed to mean that you passed if it doesn't let you reschedule and pay for it again, but we'll see! It worked for RNHusbandSD's wife! How long did it take your wife to get it in the mail from the day she took her exam? I'm anxiously awaiting mine too!

nclexpn results in california
mlandingin177, like I said in my thread....I'm one of those people that has to see it to believe it! And I'm not sure how reliable that trick is! My friend just told me about it and so far there are only 2 people that I know that have tried that trick and they passed because it wouldn't let them register again. So wait for the letter in the mail just to be sure! It also took me 2 hours to stop at 85 questions, so don't rely on it. I just want to see if this method is true or not! Just have faith! I'll be praying for you that you passed! Be optimistic! =)

nclexpn results in california
Hi everyone! I graduated from the LVN program in July 2008 from NCP in Hayward. I had just taken my NCLEX-PN last Monday, January 12th and stopped at 85. I started really studying beginning in Dec. off and on. I only got up to Lesson 3 in the NCSBN learningext.com website before it expired! I stopped studying for awhile during the holidays, then studied again for 1 week straight before the test. I used the orange Saunders book as well as the CD that came with it. I felt like I didn't study much and felt very nervous that it wasn't enough to prepare me! It took me almost 2 hours to do the whole exam before it shut me off at 85! I was so nervous, that I took my time and made sure to be careful to read the question and each of the options! I didn't have any math or dosage calculations at all, I had about 5 or 6 select all that apply, lots of pharmacology/ med questions which I did not know what most of the meds were, and the bulk of my questions consisted of prioritizing! I was not sure how I did! I was 50/50 and on the fence on whether or not I passed! It has been a week since taking the exam and every one of my classmates have passed so far. A lot of them got their results in the mail in about 2 weeks, give or take a few days and have received a standard sized envelope. However, one of them showed me a way of finding out your results online. She found out she passed before she received the letter in the mail! I asked her how she found this method and she told me one of our other classmates told her about it. She walked me through the whole process: You log in to the Pearson Vue website with your account username and password. On the left column, you click on Register and re-register again as if you are scheduling your NCLEX-PN exam again and paying $200 for it. Whether you say it's your first time taking the test or not, doesn't really matter. You select your school, board of nursing, etc. Once you click Next or Submit, if it says you already took the test, to contact the board, and can't schedule it again....it means you passed. If it's asking for your credit card information to pay for it so you can schedule the exam, then you failed. I got the first message, which means I passed. BUT I'm not sure how reliable this method is! I'm the type of person that has to see it to believe it, so I'm still waiting for the letter in the mail just to be sure! I don't want to get my hopes up! I would like to see if this really works though! I want to get a poll started and see if it's true for everyone....pass or fail! Once I get the letter in the mail, I'll come back on here and let you guys know if I really passed it! You guys do the same...try this process and then wait for your letter in the mail and see if it matches the message that you get from Pearson Vue (unable to schedule another test= pass, able to pay for and schedule another test= fail). It sort of does make sense though because if you failed it and have to retake it again, the website would allow you to schedule it again and pay another $200 to take the test. I know you have to wait 45 days to take it again, but that's to actually take it, not wait 45 days to schedule it! I think you can schedule it right away once you find out if you failed, but you have to schedule it 45 days from the 1st time you took it. Hope this helps everyone's anxiety! I can't sit still either!
