  1. Congratulations!!! Does your posting mean that you were accepted to Jeff too? I only applied to Drexel, so hopefully I'll know one way or the other soon. Best of luck wherever you decide to go!
  2. Hey Soccer - Have you heard back from Drexel yet? Am still waiting and wondering if anyone else has gotten the letter........Thanks!
  3. Hello - I applied - I believe it is 4 - 6 weeks. Did you apply to any other programs? This is the only application I sent out - am really hoping that I get in. Good luck to you!
  4. Don't worry about it. If you want to go back, you will find the time. Personally, I would have never been able to go to schood while pregnant and working (I know some can, but I know my own limitations!) I would get so tired that I could literally fall asleep in the blink of an eye at work. I am an accountant and wanted to go back to get an accelerated BSN years ago. I'm now finishing up pre-reqs. and have applied for the accelerated program next Fall. I'm 36 years old and have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. I finally feel like I am at that place in my life where I can balance my full-time job, part time studies and family life and I've been doing great. You'll know when you're ready. Having a baby is a major life event and so is your schooling. Take the time you need to truly enjoy both!
  5. related to your job? Either just yourself or as part of a suit against the facility where you work? I have always wanted to go into the healthcare field, but fear of this happening to me has always been in the back of my mind. I'm working on pre-reqs for nursing school right now - only 4 more to go (career changer from nice, safe, but boring accounting). This doubts are starting to crowd my brain again. We're all human and bound to make a mistake at one point or another. How often do you see a nurse involved in a lawsuit. If it happened to you, what area of nursing do you practice?
  6. I haven't really looked into anything else. I know Thomas Jefferson has an accelerated program as well, but it is longer and from what I understand more difficult to get into. I'm really hoping to get into Drexel, but if that doesn't happen I'll think of a Plan B at that time. I am also anxious to finally get started. How many classes do you need to get out of the way and what is your other degree in? It would be nice to have someone close by to commisserate with if we both end up going! We'll have to stay in touch!
  7. Good luck! I'm taking two pre-reqs. right now at Bucks and still need four more after this summer. I already have an accounting degree from Drexel from 10 years ago and want to switch things up by going back for nursing. If you don't get in for spring, hopefully we'll both make it in for fall. Let me know how it goes!!!! Also, when you call ask about their next open house. They have one per month and you really can glean a lot of info from them.
  8. p.s. just noticed your user name and am wondering what significance the numbers have (just curious - it's my zip code!!!!) (you don't have to answer that if you don't want to - i know i am nosy!)
  9. Hi There - Actually, this probably won't get a lot of responses in the Distance Learning forum since the ACE program is an accelerated BSN program. I just happened to stop by this particular forum and may have answers to several of your questions! I just went to an open house at Drexel two weeks ago with regard to the ACE program. I am interested in applying for Fall 2007. At that time, they did tell us that the application deadline for Spring 2007 had passed, but they still had some open seats left. They encouraged those who wanted to get in to apply quickly, so you might still have a shot. They said that it's easier to get in for spring instead of fall as most people typically like to start in fall. They accept about 120 people for each fall session and about 80 for the spring. As for admission criteria, they go solely on your undergrad. gpa. Nothing else. They don't require a personal statement, letter of recommendation, nothing. They want an overall gpa of 2.75. If you don't have that, you need to have a 3.00 in the last 60 hours of coursework completed. That would take into account any pre-requisites that you just finished. They literally start counting back from your most recent class taken until they evaluate your 60 credits. I would call tomorrow to see if you can still get that application in for spring. I would contact Vanessa Thomas directly. She is the Assistant Director of Admissions. Her telephone number is 215-762-1098 or can be e-mailed at [email protected]. Good luck and let me know how it goes!!!
