Temp License between Grad and NCLEX?
A temporary license seems silly to me because the NCLEX is the only licensing exam and you can begin work in a lot of places without your license and then assume RN duties once you get it.

where are the jobs for new nurses?
The jobs are here, they are just harder to inquire about. The numerous institutions who use online applications would have you believe that this makes it easier for everyone... gets you in contact quicker... but in my experience it did just the opposite. I suggest you get the names of real live actual RN nurse recruiters at the places you're interested in, and get a cover letter and resume to them. If this involves walking into the place, then do it. Too many places shuffle you through human resources now. It was pretty odd the couple times I had interviewed with someone who had no nursing knowledge. You end up being a piece of paper instead of someone who just received their license.

Nurses/Nursing Students:What advice would you give someone starting Nursing School?
Accept love, support, and advice from your classmates but do not let them get you all worked up. Some days I would have been cool as a cucumber had I not let a classroom full of people freak me out.

Fingerprint Question NJBON
Fingerprinting happens independent of school, after your application for a license is processed. If you haven't done that already you should do it asap.

Fingerprint Question NJBON
I say don't get your hopes up about taking boards in May regardless. June is more realistic as they take their time confirming eligibility to pearson after receiving the letter of completion from your school. I had all my paperwork done months in advance, fingerprinting didn't take very long to process yet there was still that small lag.

Deadline for license/NCLEX?
this probably had more to do with the official january graduation date of people who finish in december, and the school's office being unable to send out letters of eligibility until that point. my class finished in december but didn't receive ATT #s until februrary, a couple days after the BON received our letters of eligibility. many people then scheduled for march, it's not unheard of.

UMDNJ Accelerated BSN Program
I wouldn't let this influence my decision as there is not a school in New Jersey that isn't experiencing cutbacks.

Trying to endorse since September?Seriously!
Keep on them. Press other button prompts until you get a human being. When I was waiting for my ATT# I gave them a call and asked what the deal was. "We haven't received your Letter of Completion yet." "Yes you have, they were all overnighted together two Fridays ago and you've issued an ATT to some of us already." "Oh, I'm sorry, It was on someone's desk."

Are there any NJ NICU nurses out there?
that's cool and this is all dependent upon where in monmouth but my commute from englishtown to nb was 20-25 minutes which i think is completely reasonable, and much more so than any of the north jersey hospitals mentioned
-
How long did you wait...
i heard you can find your license number on the state website 2 days after?
-
Are there any NJ NICU nurses out there?
i wouldn't consider new brunswick a hike from monmouth county but that's just me

Are there any NJ NICU nurses out there?

New Jersey Nursing Schools
if you already have a bachelor's, i would just go to a 2 year program and then pursue a rn-msn program if i wanted to go into advanced practice

Considering Schools in Middlesex County
i'm graduating from the umdnj/mcc program in december i got in first try but i've heard of people waiting several semesters to get in... last figure, since they did away with the night program, was 40 applicants out of 600 each semester. i've also heard we're being bought out by charles e gregory (out of raritan bay in perth amboy and old bridge) in the "near" future but who knows i like this program and i especially enjoy the tuition
