Please be very careful
I've been out of touch from this site. Right now, I am feeling down because I trusted a direct employer from Los Angeles who claimed that the processing is faster with them compared to going to an agency. I signed up with them because they said that we can take our nclex in US, no need to get an experience here because they will provide 3mos training for us. But then after three mos, they said that we need to take the nclex before they will continue to process our papers. I took the nclex right away in order for them to continue the processing of my papers, then it took me 5 mos to get a nursing job. When I was already working, they required us, to attend to their two weeks training program in makati. I asked for leave in my hospital where I was working, it was disapproved so I have no choice but to resigned. After the training, it took me mos again of waiting for a job, I finished 2 courses, I was offered a job that is not related to nursing(both in medical field). I took it because my employer did not require me to get nursing experience but they said that we can also volunteer because it is also for own sake. Since its been a while already for waiting for a nursing job and I also need to earn, I asked the hospital if I can also volunteer. they gladly welcomed me. (During these days, there is still retrogression and my pd is still not current)I never asked them to provide me certificate or anything, I am after the experience. The supply for nurses here is higher than the demand. I am contented with my work and volunteering at the same time as a nurse because I can practice my both profession. Our employer met us once again to update with our experience, most of ur work as a volunteer and they are aware of that. They did not inform us to stop from working as a volunteer and instead seek for a full time paid nursing job(which as you all know is difficult to get because of the supply) after 7 months, our pd became surprisingly current, we informed them. they asked us once again to update with them for another screeing and voila! they said that we need to get a full time nursing job with pay for two years and volunteer work would not apply!!! I felt that this hospital wasted our time, we put our trust in them and we faithfully followed their requirements but they are not considerate enough with the experience we've done. Why they did not inform us earlier that they need a full time paid nursing job. Do we still have a fight in this matter? We would like to complain but we dont know where to go. we felt that we were not treated accordingly they are very inconsistent with their requirements. we need advice... should we back out? they said that they will continue to process our sponsorship only after we have acquired two years of paid nursing job. They are so unfair. Advice us please.... Thank you in advance.

Review Center
FYI, before the controversy, I already took my Gapuz Review. Is there something wrong, if I will still recommend him? Because I still believe in him, If you think he is a cheater, maybe, he cheated one time but he was not the only cheater. Dont judge a person because he committed a mistake, do you know how many nurses made it to US because they were mentored by GAPUZ. How aware are you guys about what is going on? He is the biggest review center, so expect somebody to pull him down, what about the other review centers? They also cheated. If I will still review again, I will still choose him because of good feedbacks even if he is no longer USRN. ( I didnt know that he is no longer USRN). To I_ am_here, do you think I will recommend URC if I know that Joey Dee is one of their lecturer? PLEASE THINK FIRST BEFORE YOU ASK....

Review Center
hi! I suggest that you choose a review center that has good feedbacks already. Ray Gapuz Review is good but its expensive. There are other review centers also who gives good lectures and will keep you alive like Universal Review Center located in Guadalupe. Try to research about it. I would like to warn you USA link is not a good review center. Stay away from Joey Dee. BEWARE OF JOEY DEE!!! He is not worth of your money. He is a waste of your time and money. He is not anymore a USRN because he is a cheater, no wonder why he decided to move here in the Philippines. Warn your relatives in Bulacan or any friends who is related in nursing, planning to review nursing. He will waste your review time talking about his life and life in US and not talking about what he is supposed to teach. Beware of his hand outs, dont fall on buying it, he is just copying the lippincott med surg review book and asking you to pay 500 as donations for the handouts where in fact you can buy a book for 300 pesos only, ORIGINAL! I was fooled by this person and I dont want it to be repeated to others. Best of luck to all test takers!!!!

my first medication error, what is the proper consequence?
Hi! I would like to know if it is justifiable to be terminated if i committed a medication error for the first time? I work in a government hospital. on my night shift, I received my 18th patient from ER (ratio here is 1:18). there is a due med at 4 am which is tramadol 1 ampule unfortunately, I gave the wrong medicine, instead of tramadol, i gave ranitidine. I just found out when i went back to sign his medication chart.I admitted that it was my mistake because i carried out the wrong medication. patient is for KUB IVP the following day. I was not properly oriented in the hospital, it was my first time to receive a patient who is for KUB IVP. i thought that the procedure is done also to a room where KUB Ultrasound is done. Is it right to question a nurse competency if she do not know where the KUB IVP is suppose to be done? The headnurse is blaming me she said that if I do not know I should ask them but my point here is they did not properly oriented me and I am surprised that my first medication error would result to termination knowing that the patient is safe after administering Ranitidine. The hospital didnt even give handbook about the hospitals policy and what they usually do to nurses who committed an error. I noticed a lot of error in the hospital but none of these were reported like giving 30 units of hum R instead of 3 units, skin testing of wrong antibiotics, giving also the wrong medication to a patient. Kindly, help me on how can I fight for my rights? I was asked to make an incidental report and i find it difficult because I never made one, this will be my first time. please guide me. Thank you!

Review Centers in the Philippines
He is the owner Of USA link. Beware of that man, he is only good with words. He is not as Good as the other review centers. Instead of taking his classes, I suggest that you just read lippincott nclex review materials, its better than listening to his stories and wasting your money for his nonsense lecture. He also offers seminar i think in Heart Center his licensed has been revoked last march 2005. He is not worthy of your money.

who wants to get nursing experience as a volunteer with certificate?
Hi! I work in Ospital Ning Angeles in Angeles City. If you guys would like to have certificates and work as a volunteer, you can apply here they will give you certificate provided that you work for them for a minimum of 3 months. You will work there just like a full time worker without pay or apply there and youll get paid but the salary is 6k only.(tax exempted)) the work, well of course, expect to have a maximum of 18 patients if you will be assigned in charity and 10 patients in private ward. The load is basically the same because the significant others in private ward will actually make you feel that they are your extra patients as well(hehehe). the schedule: 12hours a day. 2 consecutive working days then two consecutive off duty days. then after 4 am shift they will rotate you to 4pm shift. EX: day 1&2:7am-7pm; day3&4:off; day5&6:7am-7pm; day7&8:off; day9&10:7pm-7am; day11&12:off; day13&14:7pm-7am; day15&16:off then repeat the sched. you will actually gain the skills that you need there. hope you join us, as a volunteer, do not worry, they will not let you handle a maximum of 18 patients, there will always be a nurse next to you, you will assist each other. hope this helps!

Review Centers in the Philippines
he didnt issue us an official receipt when we enrolled last september 2004 on his review center, if we could join hands, let us complain him he is such a liar. we really need to stop him or he'll keep on fooling nurses. how did someone learned that he is not paying taxes? How come some schools are not filing complaints against him, its true, all he could talk about is his life stories which i also doubt it. he is just good in convincing but a terrible lecturer (puro yabang lang! kapal talaga!)

what is the best nursing school in q.c./manila?
Hi! you better visit the school. i applied a month(May,2001) before the start of classes. we were 10 second coursers who got accepted at that time. if you are angeles based, you can also try Angeles University Foundation, they are also accepting second coursers. it has a good reputation also.

Review Centers in the Philippines
Who is this lecturer? Because I met the owner of USA link, We paid them in cash, we taught that he is a good lecturer. he even asked us to donate P500 for the review materials, he said that its not included on our tuition fee. then we found out that the materials came from one book only and it costs only P300. we were not satisfied on his lectures because 70% of our time in the classroom, he mostly talked about his life. sa after 3 days of attendance we decided to stopped attending his review. we asked him to reimbursed our tuition fee since we decided to stopped attending his lecture, guys believe me he is no good. And am not sure if he is really a licensed USRN
