  1. i believe peanutrn's statements are right about the nj licensure by endorsement. thanks sakuji.. your statement means alot.. :-) goodluck to you.. see you soon here in nj.. peanut
  2. After 8 days of passing the NCLEX, they send me a card which contains my license number and basic information. It does not contain a picture. Even the note from the pearson vue that you passed will use the picture taken on the testing site not the 2X2 pic.. NO SSN and CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECK.. NO LICENSE in NJ.. By the way.. they issued my license yesterday, August 16,2006 through telephone.. I am just waiting for the physical license to come anytime next week.. :-)
  3. Question to peanutRN: 1. Are you a filipino citizen? I'm just wondering to see if we all have the same background, being an immigrant might be different. YES I AM STILL A FILIPINO CITIZEN by HEART and MIND :-), though I am already a permanent resident here in the U.S. 2. If I do pass my New Mexico exam, I plan to apply Licensure by Endorsement in New Jersey. a. Do I have to have SS# to endorse? NO,just leave it blank. You'll get an SSN once you got here in the U.S., two weeks more or less after your entry. b. Do I need the CES from cgfns to endorse? Because suzzane said CES is also a requirement for Licensure by endorsement. You said NO, I just want to confirm because the BON of NJ haven't replied yet to my email for a week now. I have a reply to suzanne's post... please read that one.. which is my own experience.. maybe you'll get an idea on how nj bon process documents for licensure by endorsement... PEANUT
  4. I don't mean to give wrong information about the people posting in this site but what I am telling is about my own experience. I did not submit any CGFNS certificate nor did my co-workers here in NJ who have their licensure from California and Saipan endorsed to NJ BON. (Knowing that California and Saipan don't need CES from CGFNS/ICHP) The last time I contacted the one processing my application, she just needed my livescan and ssn, and told me she can licensed me accordingly if she have both. My co-worker who holds a license in california has a hard time getting his license from new york that is why he needs to move from a hospital in n.y. to a nursing home here in n.j., the hospital in n.y. gave him 2months to submit his license or show them his interim permit and n.y. bon did not issued him the license or permit, but when he tried to applied to n.j. bon, in 2 weeks time, they issued it to him, granted that he requested a licensure verification from california bon since it is not included in the nursys. i also forgot to mention that since vermont is included in nursys, i just send nursys the form and $30, and when i was still in the phils., and checked with nj bon, they had it already since it is an ONLINE VERIFICATION. the reason i wasn't able to get it in phils., is because i don't have an SSN, that is why I am telling the applicants that you can leave it blank if you don't have one and I did not submit my fingerprint cards because the process is expedited when you have the livescan through sagem morpho here in new jersey because you can't do it if you are out of state.. I stand to be corrected but I hope I am not 100% wrong. :-) it's me, peanutRN
  5. once you pass the nclex in any state, you no longer need ces from cgfns/ichp; you can apply now for licensure by endorsement. if you still don't have an SSN it is ok to pursue an application in VT. they won't mind at all but i guess they need a copy of your license. in vt bon, they usually process less than a month if you have all the requirement specially if you have the cgfns certificate. i am now waiting for my license. i recently had my livescan through sagem morpho at nj bon's office in newark; i also submitted my SSN and changed my address. hopefully,i hope i have my license by next week. i just need to contact the person in charge of my documents. she is just waiting for the result of my criminal history background check. i guess it's worth it. :-) nj bon also process application eventhough you don't have the SSN but you need to have a CGFNS Certificate before you're application to be approved. hope this helps. peanut
  6. hi congrats to you, 1.i will suggest you look up in the net what's the web page of MS board of nursing so you can check their requirements for licensure, like if you need cgfns and an english exam.. so if it does, you might as well take these first. i hope you will take advantage of what you've learned for the local board exam in RP,so that you can ace cg or nclex perhaps. 2. you need to get first the necessary requirements for employment be it a direct hire or a staffing service, that is a. CGFNS plus IELTS or b. NCLEX plus IELTS; these are needed for you to gain employment in the u.s., they are also needed when your prospective employer will file an immigrant visa petition or the I-140, in behalf of you. 3. i prefer getting the exams first after the clinical experience, once you get to care for a ward with a 1:50 ratio you will have no time to review for your upcoming exams. remember, those are what you need. 4. the processing times vary really; for ideas regarding consular processing you might as well look at NVC-GP tracker; by the way,you can look for other board of nursing which is easier to get an authorization to test so you can be eligible for NCLEX, then you can just endorse the license to MS. cali bon, vt bon, il bon do not require cgfns.i wouldn't suggest ny bon though, cause it costs too much, this site is helpful you might as well checked other threads for guidance. hope this helps, peanut

  11. hi agp_ph, here in lax, you'll get off the plane.walk very far.. hahaha.. and then go to this special lane for immigrants who 1st arrived in the u.s. they will ask for your visa packet and passport. (no x-ray,but bring it anyway) then they will get your fingerprints.after a while an immigration officer will do something about the passport and packet; they will confirm your final address. they will ask you to claim your baggages first from the carousel. and then voila! they will call your name and give your passport to you again with your INS number written on it. i don't know if the process is the same in JFK, but probably they do have similarities. it's me, peanut
