  1. Awesome!! I am looking into University of Phoenix right now. The rep was very nice and so helpful on the phone just now. I hope to enroll soon!
  2. Yes Eric the paper is nice!!! I want to frame it. What does everyone usually do with their license? Amy you certainly deserved to pass! I am so glad for you. Enjoy your time OUT of the books.....=-) Actually I am trying to find a good place to get my bachelors online....... any ideas?
  3. :welcome: My RN license came in the mail today. It was such a wonderful feeling to be able to open something with such pride!! We work so hard and in the end it does pay off............... CONGRATS AMY D!!! I was so glad to read YOU PASSED (like you weren't going to pass? come on!! hehe)!!! Everyone knew you would do it. It is so nice to come on here and read about people about to take boards. I am nervous and happy for everyone! I really must boost Suzanne's plan one more time because without her swift kick in the hiney and "guiding us" in the correct direction I still might have been doing TOO MANY CD's TOO NAME and not preparing correctly. The NCLEX once done and passed (of course), I mean reflecting back isn't much more than a test of skill. Yes its HARD, and YES its stressful, but any prepared nursing student who has dedication CAN DO IT!!! You will worry yourself silly until its over and when you see your name "in lights", but just know its all worth it!! Now when I sign my name with RN afterwards I have such a grin and I am so glad!!!!!:balloons: PS Saunder's from cover to cover......dont be neat with your BOOK! Use pens, highlighters, pencils, post its, etc! Copy critical pages at kinkos and take them in the car with you.....put them near your toilet...........just feel comfortable with the information. (Hey wasn't I flipping out stressing seems like so long ago now......HAHA)....GOOD LUCK ALL!
  4. Wow, is there life after the boards?? LOL I find myself feeling guilty for doing other things......other than studying. You really get so used to having a book or CD at all times ... I am so happy its over!!:roll :chuckle :rotfl: Thanks again for all the congrats!!~
  5. Thank you!!!!!! Good luck to everyone taking the test in the upcoming future YOU can do it!!!:roll
  6. With many thanks to everyone who contributed happy thoughts and to Suzanne:thankya: for inspiring me to study the RIGHT way THANK YOU SO MUCH! PearsonVue actually posted my grade at 10:30am this morning. My husband called me up screaming so loud with excitement I could hardly make out what he was saying.....lol I passed!! I can't say enough to express my gratitude for such a wonderful accomplishment. What a fantastic profession to be in and I made it through. I look forward to adding those initials behind my name "RN"!! PS Amy you are next!!! You are going to PASS with flying colors!!! :pumpiron: :caduceus:
  7. Thank you. I work tomorrow so I will have my husband, family, and friends checking the site ALL DAY!!
  8. Hey Amy!! When did you test? How was it? I am so glad I am finally done, but can't take the suspense.......48 hours seems like 48 days..........lol post back soon I cant wait to hear about your test.
  9. Took the test Thursday. I keep checking the site even though I know the 48 hours haven't passed. (anyone else do that, too)? I wonder when my results will post since tomorrow is Saturday and its a holiday weekend!! I am so super nervous. This test was totally different from the first, but I mean that in so many ways! I got NO repeat questions. It shut off at 75. No OB AT ALL! No EKG, one cardiac on tetrology, 1 milliunits/min math question, maybe 10 select all that apply, 3 drugs, ash diet (which I didn't even remember going over lol), A LOT OF SAFETY!!!!!!!!!!!! I got some acid base maybe 4 or 5, tons of priority/delegation, "s/s of this disease", contact/resp/contact precautions, surprisingly enough there was not one question on renal failure, Oh and how can I forget..............this time around WOW did I get a lot of Psych!! Like everyone else out there states you will be able to throw TWO out right off the bat and the other two are good, but of course only ONE is right..... I am on pins and needles to get results...............I really want to get good news!!!! I am so nervous!!
  10. Well if the original poster is anything like me working and raising a family then a spa day is unlikely...... i agree you either know it or you dont however........honestly how much of the NCLEX is a mind game where its all in the test taking abilities and NOT necessarily ALL knowledge base....... I sympathise totally with the "OP" when she said she was super nervous. (Doesn't necessarily mean she isn't going to make the best darn nurse ever)....right? If you aren't nervous I mean super nervous over the NCLEX IMO something isn't right.......HTH
  11. Well Amy I did SO MANY of those different types of CD'S and nothing AT ALL even close was on the actual state boards. I really went into the test not knowing what to expect (at all). I assumed that it would test common knowledge just in a tricky way. I brushed up on so many things only to be asked questions that nursing school didnt prepare you for. (meaning the style of question) B/C remember in nursing school they would ask a question and you would get A) resp alk B) resp acid C) metab acid D) met alk.......well the boards dont ask that!! LOL They would ask you something like: here are your pt's labs, here are the options (now if you thought of what you would pick BEFORE looking at your choices then try to look for THAT answer of course it wont be there......so now you have to critically think) I really wish I came on this message board right out of nursing school and started right away with Saunder's!! When I came home from the boards I went straight to my Saunders book to the index. Everything that I remembered WAS IN THAT BOOK!!! Even something that was only mentioned in ONE line WAS THERE!! So back to what you asked me Had I left the CD's in the other room and only used the book I think I would have been better off. Each CD had a "different style" and honestly I dont think they were close to "NCLEX style" Sorry for the long reply =)-
  12. I did get a few repeat questions. I looked at it like they found my weakness. Now while taking the test I thought to myself do I chose the SAME answer OR maybe they are giving me a second chance? So I think on some I went with the same answer and then If I saw it "again" I changed......not good advice by any means since I didnt pass.... I am going to take my sweet ole time and really give it my best (not that I didnt do that before..... )...... I am sure you passed if it shut off at 75.............that is what all my friends got and most passed!!! THINK POSITIVE & let us all know when you PASS
  13. I am taking it May 25 early in the morning. I have already put myself into panic mode and right now I have Saunder's CD going, the book that goes along with it (trying to go over all the labs and memorize the values phosphorus, magnesium, troponin, Glucose tolerance test, etc etc) I don't remember if they went a lot into those last time, but just in case I want to be prepared. Here is what I remember the most without giving too much: Majority was on Renal Failure (with of course 2 sounding correct) critical thinking kicks in for sure!! Bike safety (anyone have this)?? Herbs!!!! (too many to name) hemodialysis oxygen safety (very in depth) Cancer implanted seeds MANY on anticoag drugs (did I say MANY) LOL blood gases (loved those)....=-) positioning before, during & after procedures!! Well, anyhow thanks for posting if I need anything. I need to really stay focused and PASS so I can do what I am supposed to be doing NURSING!! PS Planning a wedding!!! How exciting!!!! Is it going to be indoors or outdoors CONGRATS!!
  14. :balloons: :balloons: Wow, FANTASTIC!! I have been following along with your post to see how well you did. I am SO glad you PASSED:lol2: :balloons: :balloons: . You must feel so darn relieved right now. Nothing can bring you down right? Good for you for not giving up. I am sure you went through ups and downs..... You will make a fantastic nurse you know why? Because you busted your butt to get there.........so on that note: CONGRATS!! PS Each time you took the test did you find getting TOTALLY different items or pretty much the same.....any repeat drug or totally opposite... Thanks Keep those positive & happy thoughts you have NOW thoughout your nursing journey......
  15. Thank you Eric!!~ Yes I used the little orange squishy ear plugs. I was so nervous about the test I just pushed them in and forgot they were even there. It was either those or listen to the other testers tappin away like little mice..... I get distracted way to easy. Also let me ask you this question.....How many of you that took the test used the dry erase board? Most of my friends never even touched theirs. I found I used it A LOT! Just to write down some norms like for the acid base questions (and I got plenty of those)!
