  1. i have done that, the only one that was helpful at all was the hawaiin community college page, but i can't use that source. all of the other ones were of no help to me, alot about the culture, not anything about the pregnancy or views of pregnancy. thanks for looking though, i need all the help i can get!
  2. hi! i am doing a project in ob this semester in ns about the japanese culture and their views of pregnancy. i can find all sorts of things about the japanese culture in general but none specific to pregnancy. i thought some of you ob nurses out there would be able to help me out in the way of resources or just personal experiences you have had with japanese ob patients. thanks!!
  3. Hi! Have you looked at the thread that says something about "what are the most useful things you need fo rnursing school"? I started ns in January and took a whole list of items from there, I went out and bought just from that thread, it's great. I LOVE my Dansko shoes, very comfy. I would suggest a Littman stethoscope, just the Classic II would be great. I also bought those little neon colored post it things to tag pages, just the little bitty ones but you could still fit several words on there, like Unit 1 chapt 1,2, and 3. I can't say enough about a pen and a mechanical pencil that you like. Life is so much better when you like what you are writing with I also bought my own three hole puncher, love it. A backpack with wheels, those books are so heavy. I bought mine at Wal-mart on clearance for $7, it workes just fine. I always carry chapstick or lipgloss (just cause I'm kind of a lip junkie), gum, and try to keep hard candy like Jolly Ranchers or mints. It is nerve racking, but it will be fine. On another note, just from very recent experience, there is always a trouble maker or two in each class, stay away from yours! Your life will be much easier;) Good Luck!
  4. Hi! I just have to know.....is there ALWAYS a trouble maker in every nursing class?
  5. i am a penn valley nursing student now and i know that as of february they have all new admission requirements. check those out at on www.mcckc.edu. good luck!
  6. Hi! As a mom of twins that were preemies and spent almost four weeks in the NICU I know that medical expenses can be overwhelming to say the least. That being said, what the stay costs is the VERY LAST thing on your mind when you are in that situation. I think it really depends on your insurance coverage and if you have a PPO or an HMO. My Husband carries insurance on us through his job and it is a PPO. Although we still ended up with approximately $38,000 in medical expenses to pay, many of the providers wrote off the portion of the expense that our insurance didn't cover and others obviously are accepting payments. I don't know about other states but in my state, healthcare providers can not turn you into collections or credit bureau if you make a payment every month. Believe me, especially in the beginning there were several months I sent them $5 checks. What are they going to do, repo your babies????
