Definitely go for it! I personally love beards on men if they are well kept. Shouldn't hinder you professionally.

I am a Public Health Nurse. Although I do not do this as part of my job, I did one for a community health class. It is an extremely involved project. My text was 'community and public health nursing' by stanhope and lancaster. It is the only book I kept from my BSN program and worth the expense if you are in comm health. It kinda gives you an outline. I am not sure if I still have the outline I used for my assessment. I'll try to take a look. PM me if interested. RA

HI. I also just took my NCLEX after graduating from an Associate Program 10 years ago. I used Saunders and the NSBN(?) online prep course. I studied for about 3 1/2 months everyday. I nvr took the NCLEX before and when it cut off at 75 questions, I was sure I failed. But as of March 22, I am officially an RN. I passed!!! I remember a post that most people will pass, percentage wise, so have faith and STUDY. I can honestly say, when I was in school, I did not really understand some of the information. BUt the way Saunders presents it, I know more about Nursing theory now then when I graduate 10 years ago....I also am a much better learner now. GOOD LUCK TO ALL! It was Saunders that helped the most but the questions from the online prep were kinda similar to what was on my exam.
